Lexmark X2250 uneven paper feed

My Lexmark X2250 all-in-one consistently fails to feed paper enenly. It always tends to pull one side of the paper down first causing the paper to feed on the diagonal resulting in a jam.

I have a Canon mp210 and have same problem of paper not feeding evenly, which shows up as a paper jam. Any suggestions?

    AJKILL,

Thanks for your expertise; those are some great suggestions. I haven't tried all of them yet, but will soon. Yesterday I cleaned the rollers with denatured alcohol and got alot of black ink off of them. It lessened the tendency to feed unevenly, but the problem is still severe enough to cause a jam. I notice when I pull the paper jam out, it releases very easily and not like earlier jams that took some force to extract. I've been suspicious of a foreign object, dust accumulation, or piece of paper under the guide plate, but didn't know how to proceed. Thanks for the envelope suggestion.

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

Paper feeds unevenly, then jams. Pressure on paper is light so it is easy to remove the jam. Probably something blocking the path but, I do not know how to open the case and I do NOT believe in stron arming plastic cases.

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

How do I clean the rollers on lexmark x2500

You can try to clean the rollers with a cotton bud to reach it.
Leading cause of paper misfeeds is debris or foreign objects that accidentally fell into the paper feed area. Grab a flashlight and look into the feeder for any obstructions.

Tip

My X2250 will not feed the single sheet of paper evenly. When looking at the...

Printer would not feed paper no matter how many sheets were in the bin or how clean the printer. I even cleaned the roller. The issue was I just needed a little more tension on the roller that pulled the paper in.

I removed the rear access door (see manual). Off to the left near the feeder roller you will see a spring. What I did is mover the spring to the END of the plastic arm that it is attached to (if it is missing ..you have a bigger problem). If you have moved your printer around a bit, the spring may have slipped down on to the arm and is no longer sitting at the end. This will extend the spring another 1/16 of an inch ...and that is all all it took for me. My printer will now feed a single sheet of paper with no issues. BTW: I put a drop of glue on it after so it would not slip off.

It pulls papers in unevenly...

Your paper feed rollers probably have paper dust on them. Clean them with a soft cloth (not paper towel) moistened in alcohol. Then your paper should feed evenly.

Paper is pulled into printer unevenly causing paper jam

Look closely at the "path" that the paper takes through the printer -- you probably have a small piece of paper stuck somewhere, that is causing the paper-feed to get "skewed".

Failing that, take the printer to a qualified technician.

Lexmark 7675 paper jam

> feeds unevenly

Usually, there are two, maybe three, rollers that should _evenly_ pull the paper through the path.
Check that each roller is making good contact with the paper.

> out of paper error-message

There's a small sensor, and usually a "finger" that rises when the weight of the paper is not sufficient to hold the finger down. Check for "dust" clogging/blocking this finger.

If all else fails, it's time to take the printer to a qualified technician, for a professional cleaning & tune-up.

When feeding my paper it keeps pulling the paper

You need to replace the feed rollers. One side is probably worn. You should be able to buy a rebuild kit for it. Try ebay.

Having an issue with paper pulling to one side on my Lexmark X5270. How can I correct this?

Unfortunatly Lexmark made their printers with the feed roller on one side instead of in the middle or one on each side. By it being on just one side, it tends to pull to that side when it enters the paper path. The only thing you can do to help it is to make sure the paper guides are as close to the paper as you can get them.

Uneven paper feed
