Windows service pack 1 has attempted on many occasions to load but has failed about 20 times. The computer goes down and then shows blue screen. The message when restarting says to insert windows installaton disc choose laguages press next and then repair your computer. I do not have this disc. It does say it affects the integrity of the computer. This is most frustrating and cannot know when I start if the laptop will play up and therefore cannot get into it. At this moment it is working but for how long.

boot system into safe mode. locate the icon for my computer. right click and go to properties. locate the computer name tab and select it. find the radio button for "change" and click it. rename the computer to something considerably shorter then what you have. the system cannot boot and complete the logon process if the computer name is longer than 200 "bytes"

SOURCE: Windows Service Pack 1 Problem

Try repairing the startup problem using the bootable disc.
If still it doesnt work try restoring your PC using the bootable disc to the point before installing the service pack.
Else you will have to reinstall the OS.

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
also you could run the chkdsk utility
click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to repair any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive then defragment your hard drive or
click start control panel administrive tools, computer management ,disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now, start should schedule this task when restart
then defragment your hard drive also
During the boot process you will see on the screen to press delete to enter setup
Press and hold delete during the boot up process to enter BIOS you can load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults ,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart

How do I fix a gateway m7315u that overheated?

no history told
bought a dead PC?
ran for 12 years and died just now? out of the blue fails.?
if it fails dead cold, it is not overheating while cold, so if yes, we work the dead PC cause (and batteries do not last 12years ever)

it's 12 years old, 2008 made.
and needs service any PC that old ,
  • it is full of lint inside, causing the vents to be pack, the fan packed up and the RAD packed up.
  • a shop knows this and cleans it all out. \\

a dead laptop, out of the blue, failed, even cold the screen fails
remove the large battery .
1: shut down the PC, using the power switch.
2: remove AC power pack. cord from PC, jack
4: remove the big battery (now bad) using the 2 bottom latches.
5: put back AC cord to PC, and test the PC now. like this.
6: hold the power button for 10full seconds and release if he PC ever fails to run on easy. this is called the intel reset. 10sec.
now expect the E-mchinne bios splash screen logo screen.
and then you hammer F2 key to enter bios screen #1
if data is worn in BIOS the Coin cell cmos battery is dead.
as is expected this old, for sure. and must be replaced
BIOS must work, windows is always last. get this far we can do more. ask.
Coin CELLS:
When the below RTC is dead it can not be ignored and BIOS goes nuts with it dead. it must be replaced, live span is 5-7years
10 is outlier max. replacing at 7 year means not having down time
just what you need it the most.

real photo not fake actual model real.

Hp 620 refusing to stay on.. trips off when booting? What's d cause/solution pls?

Larry always posts up there ^^^ , when I should be down here! Great answer Larry Ng.

  • Emmanuel Jan 20, 2021It's doesn't indicate power on, but it comes on..after showing d hp logo when it goes to starting windows it trips off...the when put on again it's requesting to lunch start up repair

  • Larry Ng Jan 20, 2021
the 620 is old and we know them well here.
PC's trip off for 20 reasons, that is a fact.
and you will not guess 20 times right>?

so we test the PC to find cause. true.
or get a repair show to fix it like 99% do.
are you handy with tools, and willing to buy parts or a meter?

IDK why you ask this, ? not told.
just want 20 guesses here? that?

    HP 620 NOTEBOOK right? ?????
clear as day over 10 years old
    2010 made most are.
hp has no service guide like dell have.
Dell is best.! (do not buy HP)

age is first , with any savvy tech, we see age first, age tells a tech what might be wrong. easy. (and sets the path of actions)
the cause is 2 fold, (tech) power overload or overheating.

1: the big huge battery is removed first.
run on AC power pack only not that bad and now shorted out huge bad boy battery
even run like this FOREVER if that is you bag.
2: next the RTC coin cell battery is now dead
a $1 part, and when dead no PC can boot.
and BIOS goes NUTS, and random.

3: YouTube covers dismantle to RTC coin watch it.
4: overheating we run apps on any PC
to see if CPU is not too hot,
if yes we clean the PC out fully of all lint
    or it will always overheat.https://pcdied.com/overheated.html

5: overloading power, this is where the 20+ count comes in to play, 20 things inside any PC on average can in fact short out
and the power regulators inside see that and shut down and the PC goes dead.
we do the strip down test to find that.
    https://pcdied.com/PSU/strip-down-testin...

I bet you are not game for all that.
most are not, that is why PC shops excel.

you have 3 choices besides trade up.
1: get the shop to fix it.
    2: gue$$.
    3: or test.

    your call.

  • Larry Ng Jan 20, 2021
if PC stays on, bad HDD is next fail.
like clock work , normal failures are known.
    batteries first then HDD.
or simply packed full of lint alike all are 10 years old, no kidding, packed.

  • Anonymous Jan 20, 2021
    trips off means
    1:fans dead
    2: screen dead
    3: all LED dead.
    4: silent, right?
and holding power button for 10 seconds and released at end fails.
5: and fails with big battery dropped out fully.
there is start, we can do this 20 steps at a time. until TRUE cause is found.
    RTC coin replaced is next.
seen as coin cell socket holder (nice)
just the opposite side from DDR ram bank.

seen here. see silver coin? left side.?

My lenovo G555 has a blue screen how do i fix this problem

Try a weird fix that some people have experienced success with. Remove the battery pack, then hold the power on button down for 10-20 seconds (any extended period of time will not harm your laptop, this appears to only discharge voltage from the system) Reinstall the battery and then turn the laptop back on by holding the power button down for 10-20 seconds. May take 3-4 attempts to get it to boot up. There may be a problem with recently installed programs, the HDD may be faulty or an update hasn't been applied properly due to a compatibility issue. Hopefully the battery removal method will work for you.

My computer screen goes blank when I change the user

Hi, A(n) (recently) installed program is probably causing the problem, interfering with the service that takes care of the logon and -off process. To see if this is causing the problem, you can try the following:
Use this method if you remember around which date the problem started: 1. Click 'Start' -button 2. Type the following into the 'Searchbox': rstrui.exe 3. 'System Restore' opens 4. Select a date from which to restore your computer from. Needless to say, the date you choose should be a date on which you weren't experiencing the problem :-)
Use this method if you don't remember around which date the problem started: 1. Click 'Start' -button 2. Type the following into the 'Searchbox': msconfig 3. A system configuration window will show, where you can change the way Windows starts up 4. On the 'General' tab select the second option to boot diagnostically, loading only the standard devices and services. 5. Click 'OK' 6. Click on 'Reboot' 7. When you're computer has rebooted a message will show telling you that you've changed the way windows should start up and the system diagnostics window will show as well. 8. Since only standard devices and services have been loaded, try to logoff or change user and see what happens. If everything goes well, you know that a program, which should be a program you've installed before any problems started showing up, is causing the problem. If not, there's a corruption in the services of your operating system. 9. If everything goes well, you can start loading other services (from programs you've installed in your computer) one by one from the 'System configuration' window by clicking on the 'Services'-tab.
When you've found the the program that's causing the problem, delete it from your computer and select from the 'System configuration' window, 'General' tab the first option, for windows to start normally.
I hope this helps Good luck.

Computer will not boot.

Form the info you provided, you have a RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) disk array. RAID 0 (striped disks) distributes data across several disks in a way that gives improved speed and full capacity, but all data on all disks will be lost if any one disk fails. Apparently Diagnostics has determined that “Drive 2” is defective. You will have to replace the defective hard drive and reload the Windows operating system.
