I dropped my iPhone and the screen is shattered. I don't want to pay for another phone. What should I do? The screen is cracked only at the top so it is still usable, although I'd rather have it fixed.
somebody has to open the iPhone and replace the part. The cheapest way is to do it your self and you should get aways with around $70. The part is available on ebay. If you want to pay to have a service do it for you there are third party iPhone Screen Repair Services. To try to do it yourself, here's a iPhone Repair guide on how to disassemble an iPhone. As you can see from the guide, this is not quite that easy. Maybe a tech savvy friend can do it for you.

Cracked screen
on a 3g iphone the glass/digitizer replacement is pretty easy, definitely much less than replacements of ATT or Apple if you can do it yourself, there are iphone repair guides websites that guide you through the repair step by step, but you should have done something like this before.
