Question about Brother MFC-7220 All-In-One Laser Printer
I have an iMac. I own the MFC-7220 which I use with my mac. I normally use the printer as a copier. However, when I try to print work I've done or a receipt that needs to be printed my printer window on my computer says sending communication to printer and that's it. My printer never gets the signal. I cannot scan either. I get a beep and nothing happens. Is my printer shot? thank you for your time. I hope I gave enough information for you to come up with a solution.

This could be the result of several problems. The quickest, cheapest, and easiest thing to try is to clean the "corona wire". This is done by removing the drum/toner unit. On the drum unit (the big grey cradle) is a blue tab with an arrow on it. Slide this back and forth twice, being sure that the two arrows line up when you are done. Put it back in the machine, and make a copy or print from your computer to test the quality. If this does not solve the problem, you may need a new drum (every 12,000 pages) or a new toner cartridge (about every 2,500 pages).
