Can't send any texts. I can receive texts, make and receive calls and use all other functions. But when i go to send a text, it places it in the outbox and after a few attempts to resend, fails. Someone said i can reset the settings by turning off, using another sim in the handset to send a text or using my sim in another handset to send a text then try again on my own handset. Any help greatly appreciated.

It is frustrating when only your phone cannot send text messages no matter how strong the network signal is. Sometimes you feel nobody cares about or remembers you because nobody calls or texts you but actually there are. Your phone just can't be reached or can't receive text messages. When these happen, turn off the phone; remove the battery and then the SIM card. Insert the SIM card to another phone and try sending text messages; if you still cannot send text messages, remove the SIM card and let it sit off the phone for at least fifteen minutes then insert it gain. You should be able to send text messages after that, but make sure you have credits.
The next thing you should look into is the phone. Make sure network signal is present then insert a known good SIM card in your phone and try sending text messages. Reset the phone if you still cannot send text messages, but back up important files and data, such as contacts, videos, images, and messages, before doing so.
One simple way to "reset" the phone is by removing the battery and letting it sit for at least fifteen minutes. Another way is by restoring the phone settings to factory settings. Simply navigate to settings then phone settings and select "restore to full factory settings" depending on the brand and model of the phone.
This tip is not intended to solve virus or firmware problems but rather to avoid unnecessary visit to the service center and save few bucks from a problem only caused by a simple electronic glitch. Check the network signal strength and your credits before jumping into any conclusion.
Check the functionality of your phone.
1. sends texts without receiving
2. ask the persons if the honestlyy send messages by text
3. the phone on one of the owners has full mail box
4. The receivers phone has space in maill box
5. chance are that your phone is full of messages at the mail box area.
6 The arrangment with phone provider would restore the functionality
The Nokia 1100 is not a gprs, multimedia enabled phone, which means you cannot perform any of the functions listed above. The best you can get from the phone is to send and receive text messages, make and receive calls and probably send and receive picture messages.
That's a problem the Network Service Provider should be able to solve. I don't think it's your phone.
Remember to delete msgs, when you no longer need them. The phone only has a set amount of memory. Phonebook
