Lost all contacts on iPad mini

If the important contacts in iPad get deleted, you will try to get them back. Restoring iPad with the iTunes backup is the easiest way to recover deleted contacts on iPad mini. If you update your iPhone backups regularly, then you can recover most of the important data from the backup. The restoring process is also easy to be done, and the following tutorial is for the new users of iOS devices:
  1. Connect iPad mini to computer with USB cable, and iTunes will launch automatically. If not, you should manually start iTunes.
  2. iTunes will recognize iPhone and display the iPad icon at the upper left corner. Click the iPad icon.
  3. The control panel of iPhone appears after you click the iPad icon. Click Summary in the panel.
  4. Click Restore Backup in the right part of the window. Then iTunes will allow you to choose the iPad backup, and finish the restore.

Hi,
It sounds like the resolution on your machine is set too large for the screen. Right click somewhere on your desktop where there is no icon. Assuming you are using Windows 7, there should be a Screen Resolution option in the little menu that appears - click on that, then try changing the resolution to 1366x768, which may even say Recommended next to it in brackets. If that still doesn't seem right, try some of the others, until you are happy with the display.
Hope this helps.

The icon display is taking up too much of my screen and I would like to reduce it.I can't seem to find the file that has that feature. I have done it before but can't remember how.

Hello amionalden, to make the [Icons] smaller; do the following. From the "Desktop Screen" paul7of9_74.jpg (Right) click on the "screen," there will be a 'list' of items, choose the "View." when you point to it a 'side window' with the [Arrow] will open. There will be another 'list' example: Large Icons, Medium Icons... Choose the {Medium Icons}, this will make them 'smaller.' "I hope this information is helpful? Thanks for using FixYa, paul7of9."

No composite input signal

Try the following:
Right after power on, tap the F8 key to see if you can get a short menu to come up.
If it does, select "Safe Mode."
If your screen looks different, it may be just the driver for the display card or monitor is trashed (Windows like doing that, keeps us challenged).
- Open Control Panel, then System, then Hardware, finally Device Manager.
- Locate Display adaptors, open and delete the adaptor listed (all, if more than one.)     - Locate Monitors, open, delete any listing there.
Reboot.
Windows should 'find' two 'new' devices and install the drivers for them.
The display may still be different if you had other than the default settings.
Go then to the Display folder of the Control Panel, click on 'Settings' and experiment. Depending on your Windows version, if you choose something dumb so it makes the screen unreadable, ignore it and Win will ask if you want to keep it and give you some time to acknowledge that you like it. When you don't, it will just go back to the pre-tinkering settings.

Yes you did something - you set the resolution so low that everything is too large to fit on the screen. If you are unable to bring up and view the setting to change it back the simplest thing may be to boot into safe mode. Although changing the settings is not an option you can uninstall the Display Drivers from Device Manager and reboot. This should set the resolution back automatically to a usable value.

Desktop icons lost

Sadly, there is no straightforward command you can use to recover them, but well, there are three ways, really, that you can get your icons back, depending on which ones were lost, that you are referring to. for this, I'm assuming you're running a more recent version of Windows.
----- For Windows XP ------
1) for recently deleted icons- check your Recycle bin, they could still be there.

2)for system-installed icons, such as My Computer, and Internet Explorer- you can recover these by going into your Display Properties (Start -> Control Panel -> Display). Select the Desktop tab, and click on Customize Desktop. Make sure the "General" tab is selected, then, under the "Desktop icons" section, tick off the icons you want to restore. click on "Ok" when you're finished, and Presto! those icons are up on your screen.

3)If the above two options don't work, you may have to add them manually ( a pain, I know). To add a shortcut in this fashion, right-click anywhere on the desktop, and select New -> Shortcut. you will have another window appear on your screen, asking you where the file you are making a shortcut to is located, and what you want to call it. follow the steps, and when you're finished, you should have a working icon. (another option would be to reinstall the software that made the icons, but that's also a pain in itself.).

----for windows vista ----

1) check the Recycle Bin (same procedure as Windows Xp, although, if your recycle bin option is deleted, then you have a problem that can be solved by using #2)

2) For system-installed shortcuts- follow This excellent tutorial.

3)Manually installing shortcuts- same as for XP.
