Some Tomtoms can use latitude and longitude coordinates. They refer, of course, to points on the map.
To use coordinates on some tomtoms you tap the Browse Map option. A general Map of the route is displayed. The screen has three buttons at the bottom
- Options
- Find
- an icon for the point on the map.
- Done
Tap the Options button: The Map detail Preferences appears, offering the choice to put a check mark in POI, Favorites, images. At the bottom of screen you have 3 buttons : POI, Advanced, Done.
Tap Advanced: In thsi screen you can put a checl mar on Names, Markers, and Coordinates.
Put a Check mark on Coordinates and press Done, Then Done again until you exit all those options.
Now your tomtom is configured to display coordinates. Be aware that GPS technology was created for military purposes and its civilian uses cannot be expected to offer pin point accuracy. It took an act of the US president to allow its use for civilian localization.
