With only one ide connector you can only have 2 devices a master and slave, you cannot put a HD on a floppy connector...its only for floppy drives. I suggest you remove the cdrw and replace it with the dvdrw as it should be able to burn cd's as well....make sure the jumper on the dvd is set for what ever position you put it on....sugggestion is DVD master HD slave

Since your system only has one IDE connection, it is possible that it might happen to have more SATA connections instead. My new board only has provisions for one IDE but several for SATA (9 to be exact) If so, you could purchase a sata dvd/cd writer. I think the best way to go is to do what Putty suggested unless you would like to have 2 drives. For ease of copying discs, it is nice to have 2 drives.
