Question about Sewing Machines
I have a singer 9410 - and the plastic part that the bobbin thread fits into (part no. 14) has come loose from the machine. I am not all that mechanical unfortunately haha. When I try to re-insert it it seems loose and it does not stitch correctly. I think I did not put it in right. Seems like some of it must go under the metal plate but I am not sure which part or how to put it in correctly. This must sound retarded. But please help. Thanks!
I have the same problem - the bobbin case rattles as soon as I start to sew. The problem seems to be the little spring holding it in place, it catches the thread leading to the long loops behind the fabric. I can't get the spring in just the right place so that it holds the bobbin case, but doesn't catch the thread incorrectly.
Update: Today I took my machine in to get serviced - they replaced the metal bobbin I was using with a plastic one, that was a little less rattley inside the bobbin case, replaced the needle with a new, universal one, and changed out the thread with something a little higher quality. They also adjusted the spring holding the bobbin case slightly, and now it seems to work fine. I'm not sure how long it will last, but for now I'm good.
