What kind of TV is it? if its an HDTV usually the ps3 just scans that by itself and it will ask you in the beginning before it does anything else. If its just a regular TV make your that the cables are connected on the right place maybe something is wrong with your television. Let me know how it works out.

How do i use the ps3 on a normal tv

If the "normal" tv has the Composite(rca) inputs yellow red and white. the PS3 will work on that if it doesnt you can buy an RF mudulater for under $20 at Walmart. When you do hook it up to those input you next have switch the channel to the input. Also the video settings on the PS3 have to be set for 480i no other setting works on a "normal" tv

I AM TRYING TO RECONNECT MY PS3 ON MY LCD TV AFTER 2 WEEK BEEING DISCONNECTED AND IT DOESNT SEEM TO WORK THREW HDMI CABLE! IT SAYS THAT HDMI CABLE WAS DETECTED BUT WHEN I AM ON HDMI CHANNEL ON TV THERE IS...

I think maybe the following steps might help you out :

Step 1. Turn the PS3 off into standby (red light on)

Step 2. Press and hold the power button. It will beep as soon as you press it and then about 5 seconds later it will beep again. Let go of the power button when you hear this second beep.

Step 3. Wait for your PS3 to start.

This solution basically resets the video output back to standard definition.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa

When i plug my hdmi cable into the back of my PS3, it says no input on my TV ?

you need to connect both the yellow red white cable and the hdmi cable into your ps3 and go the yellow red white av channel

go to the ps3 settings and change the video settings (ithink) to hdmi and also change the sound to hdmi

the screen will go blank and then the tv should change to the hdmi av channel if not change to it and accept the changes

I plug up the ps3 and when i hit the power button it beeps

This can sometimes occur when the system is hooked into a vcr or tv through the audio video cables. Make sure to check the channel for output some tv's have channel 3 and the vcr/dvd I have to turn it on and select L1 for line 1 input. Also I have experienced the actual audio video cable you get with the PS3 sometimes goes bad, so I had to get a new one. Another reason it may be just beeping is the software update did not complete and the system shut down or power outage occurs, if the above answers don't work check sony's website for more information how to fix a corrupt system update.

PS3 image keeps scrolling and is in black and white

I am an Australian ( 240v) and I took my PS3 to the Caribbean (110v - same as the US) and it worked fine as far as power concerned. However as I had the PS3 set to work on my TV back home (PAL) when I took it over there & plugged it in (NTSC) I had a similar problem. I fixed it like this: when the PS3 is turned off hold down the power button for 15-30 seconds it will reset the PS3's settings to defult and it should work on the system that it's connected to. Hope it helps

My PS3 only works on my Plasma tv's HDMI channel. None of my other tv's have this HDMI channel. Why doesnt my PS3 work on any other channels or my other tv's? Could anyone help out with that?

When you have the ps3 hooked up through av cables on crt tv not hdmi. Continue to hold power until the console beeps again and this will reset which audio video output resolution back down so it can be seen and heard. Hope this helpes.

Lines on the screen

Try holding the power button on the ps3 for about 10seconds. It should beep as it normally would turning on, carry on holding the button until it restarts. This should restart the ps3 in standard mode so that it can be viewed via rca/scart connection.
