Question about Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z700 Digital Camera
I have a casio exilim ex z700. I have the camera set in picture, not video mode. When I try and take a picture the camera pops up a music note on the top center of the viewing screen and I have to push the shutter 2xs to get the picture taken. It then showing the image as video not a picture! I didn't have this problem before and I don't know if I have changed a setting... How do I stop this from happening... it eats up memory and I'm not taking a picture, its a weird short video thingie... argh!
It must drive you crazy by the sound of it. It doesn't have to do with the setting or anything like that. If your warranty is still in effect i would take it to the place you bought it and see if they can fix that or replace it even. Cameras should not be doing stuff like that unless you drop it or something.

SOURCE: lens does not come out
The casio uses a series of roataing wheels to assist the lense going in and out. It sounds like one or more of those wheels is jammed or broken. You can take the camera apart on your own but it's a matter of how careful you are pulling it apart and putting it back together. Also, if you do decide to tear it apart on your own, make sure to keep your hands and fingers away from the circuit board. Oils from your hands have been known to cause cameras to read faulty. If you to take it apart, you'll more than likely have to take off the LCD screen and the bracket behind it to get the the lense. Be gentle.

SOURCE: How to unlock card on
Look at your memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
