It sounds like you a have problem with the touch pad and you can't type but the way your questions was constructed is kind of hard to make some real sense out of it..

how about rephrasing your question and giving out more details like, what operating system, what type laptop you got and what is it exactly that you can and can't do.

You can use a USB mouse and disable the touch pad in Device manager. you can find it by right clicking my computer going to properties and on the upper left you will see device manager. look for your touch pad....common one is synaptic this should solve the problem...most touch pads are heat driven....so even if you get close to it with your palm while typing it will read as if you touched it and move cursor accordingly. Hope this helps

Jumping letters on acer laptop when I type

You need to disable the touch pad while typing. During typing your palm can accidentally touch the touch pad causing the cursor to 'jump' randomly resulting in the problem.

You have not mentioned the model but on Acer laptops there's a key in the upper row with a 'pad and finger' figure on it. If the figure is in blue, press Fn together with the figure key to disable the touch pad and then again to enable it.

usually means you are pressing your touchpad whilst you are typing.
if you go onto control panel
and find the mouse option
you should be able to set it so that whilst you are typing the mouse will dissapear and then you wont have the problem

Suddenly the cursor moves back to a previous line and continues typing making a joke of what I'pingm typing (see it just did it)

make sure the mouse cursor is further down the page from where you are typing. If your text continues over the arrow of the cursor and any static electricity or touch is detected by the glide pad of a laptop or S.E. from a mouse it will move the text cursor to where the mouse cursor is.

This is a continual problem with sensitive computers.

sorry there is no permanent "FIX"

Touchpad problem on VAIO laptop

Have you tried a regular mouse another (USB) input? You may be able to carefully disassemble the pad and clean with a electronic cleaner fluid. Use a light touch with the membrane. If the mouse behaves the same, look at you system and uninstall / reinstall the driver. The oils on your fingers can gum up the surface and make it less sensitive to the electrostatic properties that make a touch pad operate.
