im gratefull for the suggestion but that is not the problem.
and the link that you sent me for the driver is not working.
let me explain little bit more. my e-empowering program AND wireless is not working, and pushing the manual buttons on the laptop itself is not doing anything at all. so what i would like to know is... do i need to re-install my driver and how do i do it if i should?

    Thanks again.

Here is the driver but I think you might have a different problem.

Notebooks often have a button or a switch the physically turns the wireless off. A lot of people don't even realize that there is such a switch on their notebook and sometimes accidentally turn it off.
Look for a button or a switch with a symbol that looks like a little satellite dish next to it.

Hmmm, I tested the link before posting it and I just tested it again. You may have more problems than you originally thought.

Right click on My Computer and select Manage. When the Computer Management window opens, select Device Manager on the left and then click on the + sign next to Network Adapters in the right pane. Is there a yellow exclaimation mark next to the wireless adapter. If there is, it indicates a problem and you should attempt to reinstall the driver. Try the link again.

There is always the chance that software on your system is causing the problem (often it is the security suite). To test this, reboot your computer and press F8 as soon as it starts to boot up. Then select Safe Mode with Networking. Test the wireless and also try to download the driver.

Note: Some notebooks are not capable of running the wired and wireless at the same time. If a cat5 cable is plugged in, the wireless gets disabled.
