Question about Yamaha Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

I am operating a Yamaha PM1D and I am getting a "Control Line A Disconnected!" message coming up randomly, stopping any board control. The second line is not taking over, as I would expect, and this is a problem. Also, I noticed that both lines were assigned to "1", and I changed the second to "2", which temporarily fixed the problem. However, when it came back, I was not able to fix it unless I unseated and reseated the BNC cable. Why is the redundant line not taking over?

Hi there, check over all your MIDI leads also. MIDI is a current operated system and is very prone to misfiring if all connectivity is not A1.

SOURCE: yamaha receiver RXV-1400 turning off after 3 seconds.

Hi
there are several reasons, but the most common is because a high power trasistor is shorted, most yamaha receivers use the same names for the failure signals, such as PRD, PRI, PRY
The PRI is the signal that "tells" to the microprocessor that something is wrong with the power amplifier stage. so my recommendation is that look with the ohmeter a power transistor shorted usually if one if damaged, the next one or complimentary is too, there is a small transistor between the two big ones, usually is the number is D1915, if this is damaged, USE the SAME, also look for resistors damaged, specially the low value like the big white this resistor is 2 in 1 and some times just one resistor opens.

I hope this helps

SOURCE: LINE NOT ASSIGNED

Since, by default, you have either 4 or 8 lines minimum, do they appear on other phones and is there anything on the buttons? Press PROG and line 3 button. If the display shows CO 003, you have another problem. If they show blank, dial 0 3 and press ENTER. Do the same for line 4 (using 4, of course).

SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V995 receiver turns on & then powers off 2 seconds late

I suggest you run self diag.  press [FM/AM] key + [Input mode] key and press the [power/standby] switch.

ps prt = power supply problem
dc prt = shorted output or leakly cap in channel
tmp prt means to hot on heatsink

you'll likely have to measure the resistances of the output FETs to find a short,

Your receiver may be detecting random signals from some other source. Infrared is pretty much line of sight but RF can come from anywhere.

This typically happens when you use regular detergent instead of HE detergent, which stresses the pumps. Are you using HE detergent?
Also check for blocked drain hose or clogged water filter.

Could be a faulty control as you suspect but also may be a bad keypad. If the "start" button has no effect I'm suspecting the keypad first.

Wurlitzer omt K99 the cd will stop during play

I seem to be having the same problem and all signs point to the serial control board board Pt# 0046630 under the player. The symptoms with mine were randomly cutting off songs about 20 sec after song start and returning disc to carrier. It started mostly when juke was first turned on (cold) and then progressed to all the time and now display on cd board is dark only randomly coming to life then dead again. power on the sub transformer is good and when it comes to life player works well. I am sending the board to be repaired.
