Question about Brother Multi-Function Center MFC-3360c All-In-One InkJet Printer
Replaced printer cartridge. Printer keeps telling me that there is no cartridge installed. Tried several times. I notice several other people at this site have had the same problem, but see no solution given.
I'm having the same problem. I called Brothers 3 times. I had use generic cartridges the first time I replaced them and they seemed to work fine for 4 months, then in the middle of printing it stopped on the 2nd page and said empty black so I replaced it and it starting sauying no cartridge, low yellow, low magnt and low cyna. I keep replacements on hand so I replaced them all (generic type) Still didn't work The first tech person said to buy a geniune Brothers black, I did and still didn't work. I called that night and the 2nd tech said I needed to replace them all with geniuine Brothers colors. I did, still the same error no cartridge then ibk black empty. The 3rd tech said I needed to take it into the nearest service center that covers warrenty repairs. The tech said it it is mechanical then it will be covered under my warrenty if not I must pay for it. I called the repair center they are out of town at a seminar until next Monday. I have a feeling I've wasted all this $$ on two sets of ink cartridges and will end up paying to have my MFC 3360C repaired. Which probably will cost more than I paid for it. This sucks. Sorry to sound so negative. Frustration does that. :O(

Call Brother on 02 8875 6000. They talked us through checking the ink management. We never use colour but they dry up. One of our colours had dried up which meant that the Multi Function Centre kept telling us that no cartridge had been installed, even though we had just put in a new black cartridge. The machine only told us originally that the black was empty (which is the one we replaced), but when going through the ink management with the Brother technician it showed that the blue also needed replacing. This apparently is what was causing the error message. So I'm off to buy a new blue cartridge - hopefully this works. So give Brother a call on the above number.
