No, they are not the same at all. The F1 had a drop in screen in its own frame that you installed with the finder off the camera. The AE-1P used a single piece screen that installed from the front through the mirror area.

My pics on my Canon rebel eos looked clear on my camera but when downloaded to the computer they are bluury. Lanscape photos are fine but wildlife is blurred.

First of all this is a digital camera, not a 35mm film camera, but it is the same fix... You need to use a faster shutter speed for your wildlife pictures. Or use a tripod, or both. The small screen on the camera is not big enough to tell if a photo is really sharp. Also check the way you have your autofocus set up, or focus manually to test a few closer shots. It may be that the auto focus is set to focus on a part of the picture which is not the bit you are interested in. There should be some indicators in the viewfinder to tell you where in the frame the camera is picking out to auto focus onto. Blurry can only be either out of focus or shake. (It could be both of course!)

My camera simply won't work. All that appears on the screen is battery information to indicate that the battery in fully charged.Nothing else works. This happened suddenly after shooting a simple...

Okay reading between the lines and I shouldn't but it feels to me as if you have had this camera for a while and are familiar with its functions would I be correct in assuming this? Did you download the pictures from your assignment using your camera and a USB cable or did you use a card reader?
Have you another memory card you can put in the camera?
What I'm hinting or leading up to is there any chance you disconnected either the USB cable or pulled the memory card out before shutting it off as in eject or safely remove?
Will the camera allow you to move into the set up or command functions? I know you said nothing else works but it shut off and didn't come back on I'm hoping you messed up on removing the memory card from the reader OR the internal battery has just dies and taken all the clock functions and your setting with it.
I don't know if you have a manual so here is a link to a PDF manual

http://www.google.ca/webhp?hl=en#hl=en&source=hp&biw=1383&bih=834&q=canon+eos+rebel+xs+manual&aq=8&aqi=g10&aql=&oq=Canon+EOS+Rebel+XS&gs_rfai=&fp=6a0673dc5c3f3912

Sorry it's a biggy you'll need to copy past it but I'm using the manual now tracking down the internal battery so it is a good link

Page 42 of this manual there is a "Disp" button here is a screen shot did you maybe touch this and shut the screen off?

If you can access the command functions page 114 has the camera reverting to default setting sequence.

On page 115 you can actually shut off the monitor display, why anyone would want that I'm not sure at this point. I'm just throwing out possibilities.

I've given you some things to look into see what happens.

How to brighten the viewfind on a Nikon F 100

If you think the screen is dirty then you can remove the view finder screen inside the camera from the lens opening. Also, there are other view finder screens that you can purchase. Read page 65 of the F100 manual to see how to change focus screens.

How do you change the prism on a canon AE-1

The prism is a major repair. If the prism is damage the the camera is trash. If the focusing screen in fornt of the prism is scratched then you can replace it if you can find another one. Because the camera is so old you will not be able to get them from Canon. Because of the age you may be better off buying another used AE-1

Pentax k1000 ....lens will not focus...(one 50mm...other 70-210mm)...happened once before...brought to camera store and of course it focused...nothing wrong...took some pics and worked ok...now not...

Try this first.

Set your lens focus to infinity and focus your screen at a far away object (like a distant lampost). If it,s not in focus, then you have a misaligned mirror. Adjust your mirror so that a infinity setting, the split-screen image merge well to form a well focussed image. Hope that helps.

Canon 3000N Auto focus fault

No extra batteries.

Usually this is a lens fault as the focusing gear is all in the lens. Clicking sounds as if a rear pinion has cracked. It's not uncomon in the 'prosumer' level lenses where plastic gears are used a lot.

It's just possible the fault is which the auto-manual switch. This usually has a mechanical clutch coupled to it which physically disconnects the gearbox from the focusing ring, as well as operating a switch to tell the camera to turn off the AF system.
