Question about Canon PIXMA MP830 All-In-One InkJet Printer
For some reason, when I try to print to disc using the program
"CD-LabelPrint" supplied with installation software for a MP810, I am
now getting an error as follows:
Error Number : 1001
The CD-R Tray is not inserted or a printable disc is not placed on the CD-R tray. Load a printable disc on the CD-R Tray, insert the tray along the guide rail, and then press the OK button on the printer. Printing will restart.
The DVD will reload after I try again, and printing resumes. The tray goes into the printer, then comes back out and gives me the same error message. I have tried restarting the computer, I after tried uninstalling and then removing the printer, and then reinstalling the printer along with its software and drivers, but none of this has worked.
The same happens if I try to print directly over display.
I use a CD-picture type .jpg which is saved on a harddisk drive.
I´ve defined a supersize CD-label of 118 x 21 mm
There is no difference if I start the print out of CD-Label-Print (ver. 1.30) or if I start it from the printer display.
The printer had been at Canon Service, but they told me it was all OK, only a question of configuration ?
I read on another site that you must wait until prompted on the screen to put the tray into position. Opening the inner door and loading the tray before asked to and then pressing OK was the key to fixing the problem on the MP830.
It's the simple things that always get you into trouble, I guess.

This problem could happen if the discs have got a shinny top to them so the sensor reflect the light back and it saying that there is not a disc in the tray.
depending where you bought it depending if you can print cd/dvds or night, the tray might come with the machine but in different places you cant print like USA you are not aloud but UK you can. this can be changed but it has to be down by a Canon Support Dealer.
