Try this first
1. try to cover up any part of your phone with your bare hands. Look for a spot where the phone signal gets weaker if you cover a particular area. If that is the case, then you simply need to hold the cellphone in another position.2.Second, try to change your position or location. There are many factors that affect cellphone signal strength, one of them is the space. If you are inside a closed location, go out and see any improvements in the signal.3.Third, you can try to detach the SIM card from your phone and turn it off. After 5 minutes, put it back and see if the phone no signal problem is still going on. Or, you can change your SIM card if you have a spare one with another network say Verizon, Smart or At &t.If all these cellphone no signal tricks won't work, then your phone is probably broken. Bring it to a nearest cellphone repair center.
Hi, why the Sim card doesn't work is because, the Sim card s not yet registared with the phone. Do be able to do that ,you will need to unlock the phone to be able to work with the Sim card. That's the only way to use the Sim on that phone. Or would you like to get a new phone .
You can also contact your service provider for help. Call is free.
If you service provider refuses to give it to you, then there is no other place where you can get a free unlock code.

Switch off your phone, remove the battery and take out the Sim card. Now try it on another working Mobile or alternatively you can try another sim card on your mobile handset. If the sim card is working on another mobile, then the problem is with your handset, if it's neither working on another mobile, then you need to get another replacement. To get a new replacement, visit the nearest Airtel Service Center (any airtel shop), they'll give you another sim card with the same number and without any fee.
In case, your sim card is working on another mobile and another sim card isn't working on your handset. First check the sim connector, if you see that the sim card is detected by the Mobile, and it's only without network, probably, there's problem with the Network IC or antenna switch (another ic) or could be water logged problem. The only solution is to get it repaired from a Samsung Service Center or from any Mobile Repairing shop (I think you are in india, if so, most mobile repairing centers repair almost all brands in one place). They'll easily fix it for you. First they will check the software and then the hardware. If any parts replacement is necessary, they'll do it for you with a small fee.
I have to inform you that China sells alot of "unlocked" phones some of
them are legit some are not. There are alot of conterfeit phones coming
out of China you have to be careful. It's clear that the sim card is
fine if you used it previously in another AT&T phone.
The problem is the phone itself, either A. it is not unlocked as it was
advertised to be or B. the phone is bunk period....can you post the
website you purchased this from ?
There is not much we can do from this site, AT&T was your best bet.
Typically they will not deal with "unlocked" phones did you mention to
them that you purchased it from China ?
Post back with the link to the site or any other questions you have for further assistance. Thank you for choosing Fixya!
Check your sim card with other mobile to find whether it is a problem of network or your mobile. If it is with Sim card, you can change it, or if it is mobile then the problem might be with the antenna.
