Question about Samsung HLR5067WX 50" Rear Projection HDTV
I'm having the same sort of problems with my Samsung 50" HLR5067WX/XAA. I bought this tv on ebay refurbished (bad move I know, never again). It worked fine for a little bit. Then I had the whole red/blue color swap and it would turn itself off then on, then off then on, etc...over and over until I had to finally unplug it to turn it off. The green light on the front would keep blinking and making noises. SO...I contacted a repair guy, seemed ok. He picked up my tv and I believe replaced the lamp and digital board. after $570. I got my tv back. It worked ok for the couple of minutes he was there. Then it started turning itself off and on again. I think the color were ok but it was hard to tell since it didnt stay on very long. Frustrated the repair guy came back.He replaced the color wheel. After $200 my tv was back. It seemed to work for longer, picture fine for almost 45min!! Then it did the same old thing turning itself off and on. It has been about 5 months since I last had it non-repaired. I'm frustrated and the repair guy only has a 90 day warranty. Are these problems common? What should I do? Please Help!!!

Hi, you have one of two problems, either the color wheel is going or one of the cooling fans are going, the color wheels are a very common problem in samsung dlp`s, sorry I can`t nail it to a specific part but I`d bet it`s the color wheel as they are notorious for failing in samsungs, video-tek

You are absolutely correct, When anyone complains of vertical lines or bars, the next step is to see if it happens on only digital inputs ( digital board ) , only analog inputs ( analog board ) , or both ( DMD board ) .
Analog board can be purchased at www.partstore.com ,

HI, this is a weak power board that is causing this shutdown. there is a faulty IC on the board that is unable to correctly distribute the necessary power throughout the set at this time.
Simply replacing the power board will fix this issue. This is not a do it your self so, we recommend a professional service tech for this repair.
