I have erroneously pressed the overwrite button instead of merge when copying tele directory from SIM to PHONE. How do I now retrieve my phone directory in which there are almost 200 entries which I despereately need. My phone is Motorazr V3 4yrs old model
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

open "address book", then press "option"scroll down to "SIM contacts" and press the right-navigation key and select "SIM Directory"
It will display contacts on your SIM card. To copy contacts from SIM to phone memory. Select "Options" then scroll down to "Mark/Unmark" press right-navigation key and select "Mark All" then select "Options" again and then select "Copy to Contacts"
That will copy your contacts from SIM to Phone directory.
It sounds like you need a new sim card but if your phone has no sim then you might need your firmware flashed...and no thier is no way to get your contacts back i once sent my phone away to bell and they sent it back empty i could not get them back :(
1. From the standby screen (the first screen when you open your phone), go to the menu. 2. Scroll to the address book and press select. 3. Scroll to the address you wish to copy (or any address if you want to copy all of them) and press the menu key. 4. Go down to copy and press select.
5. Select "Entries" to copy just that one entry or "All to SIM" if you
want to copy all your addresses to your SIM card, or "All to Phone" if
you want to copy them all to your phone. 6. Select Merge or
Override. Merge will combine any addresses that are already on your
card with the ones you are now copying, Override will replace anything
that is already there with the ones you are now copying. Be careful in
deciding which you want to do since Override will delete anything
previously saved and merge will duplicate any that were already saved
and are being saved again.
you need to get Motorola tools and a data cable so you can plug the data cable into your computer and cell phone. Once connected with MOTOROLA TOOLS you will be able to access both your Phone and SIM card data. You can copy all your data ro your PC and you can print what you want.
You can get a trial version of Motorola Tools that will be good for anywhere from 10 to 30 days off the internet or you can buy "MOTOROLA TOOLS" for v3 online for anywhere from $10 to $30. A data cable can also be purchased online for about $5 to $10.
The razr that i had could only store 4 numbers on the sim card, your phone book is stored on your phone's memory not your sim. I'm pretty sure that you cannot transfer your phone book over to your sim card.
Try Desktop overwrite HH. I've lost everything on my HH a couple of times and had to set the conduits to 'Desktop overwrites HH' in the hotsync manager - Custom settings for the next hot sync.
If what you have on desktop isn't what you want, you should copy your saved folder info back over whats in your palm folders (i.e) where you copied it from.. Before you complete this step. Then your old data will be copied to your HH.
Note - I assume you "copied" , not "archived" the data.
