Replacing it is expensive. However the player is bound to have some sort of usb port on it. You can buy some usb headphones for about £15 and use those.

Screen broken

I have the same black screen problem, and I have never once dropped it or done anything that I can think of to damage it. I tried taking out and putting back in the battery, like everyone tells me, but that still doesn't work.
Though I don't really have a solution, my dad says if you have a warranty you can just get it replaced for a brand new one for free. Thankfully I do have a warranty for 2 years so that's what I'm doing.

Broken screen

Hello mimi94,

You can take your Insignia MP3 player into any Best Buy™ store to get service. Since broken screens are considered to be physical damage you will likely have to pay for an estimate to determine the cost of repairs. Depending on the extent of the damage, you may find that it makes better economic sense to purchase a replacement MP3 player rather then get the unit repaired.

Best Regards
Ken

BROKEN LCD SCREEN

They will probably consider it a void of the warranty, but it is definitely worth a shot. I work for another large consumer electronics manufacturer, and if the customer does not admit to dropping it, and just says that it spontaneously broke, I will replace it for them. It's all in the wording. never admit you did it, just say it spontaneously cracked.
