Re: CIR 2200 copier scanner cleaning? How do I do this?
Is the copier displaying it on the display pannel? If so you need to clean the small piece of glass to the left of the copy board glass. Use windex or rubbing alco, if its dirty you most likely get lines on your copies when using the adf. Also you may need to clean the white roller on the under side of the adf. If you open the adf there is a green knobe toward the front and you can spin it and clean the white roller. That should do it for you. If not you can always turn that warning OFF in your user settings. Good Luck...

C 0650 - Faulty scanner home position sensor.
Remove the glass and clean the home sensor. If the scanner moves smoothly remove foreign matter and other obstacles, clean the scanner rails, clean or change the scanner bushing.Place WD 40 oil on scanner bushings.
The error code deals with the scanner unit / scanning lamp. Have you just cleaned the optic's???? Was the problem there before you started to work on it? Dos the scanner lamp turn ON? I the lamp dos not come on, you will need to replace the lamp and the lamp regulator PCB at the same time as a set. Very, very important... They need to be changed as a set. If you have a working parts machine, I would use the parts from the parts copier. Good Luck
Try "Head Cleaning". you can find it under printer properties, maintenance tab, then hit on head cleaning. once done, hit on print check pattern, please continue doing this until the print out goes clearer. after this, try to print a document again.
i hope this helps.
when you unplug this remove the power supply completly then give it a minute then reinstall power the unit on. if this doesnt do it us the belt to move the scanner carriage to the middle then power the unit on see if this fixes it. if not you may need to remove the top and clean the scanner mirrors. there is a carriage home strip on the underside of the top that reflects the light back to a photo cell to say the carriage is home. anything that dimms this light will cause it not to see home.
- System Preferences - Print & Fax - Select Epson Stylus Photo 2200 - Open Print Queue - In the top right corner of the Queue window click the Utility button - Epson Printer Utility will open where you can check the levels and run cleanings and nozzle checks, etc.
