Use a hair dryer to defrost the tube. It is probably frozen because a leaking water valve. There is also a kit to to add a heater kit to some models. FOr more information call the factory at 800-222-7820.

Fridege drain pipe block

There are two likely sources for water build up in refrigerators.
  1. Most likely the defrost drain tube is either frozen over or plugged
  2. The ice maker or water dispenser have developed a leak.
Check the ice maker water dispenser first. Close off the water feed to the unit at the wall water hose connection. Protect the floor before rolling the machine out into the kitchen. A loaded refrigerator will score the kitchen from the weight of the wheels rolling across the flooring material.

Observe for a day or two if the water has stopped? If it has than repair of the ice maker or dispenser hose is required,

If not than more specific information model and make is required, The link shows how one individual has taken some initiative to analyze and correct this problem. If the defrost tube is blocked than disassemble to access the drain tube is required. Many of the designs have the drain tube internal not as the video shows an external tube. If it is "just frozen over" not plugged, than allowing the unit to defrost by emptying it out and with the doors open allow for the ice to melt. It will take some time for the tube to defrost. By pulling the front vent guard you can usually observe the tray where the drain empties into. If the tube has been frozen and opens the water should be seen dripping into the tray. I would try allowing for the unit to defrost the drain tube allowing for normal operation to return. If it happens again and again then adjustment to the drain tube or cleaning is required.

My freezer is not freezing anymore please help as can not afford a new one ..thank you

Hi,
Follow the steps mentioned below to solve the problem:
First remove the ice bin and look inside the mold of the ice maker to see if it is full of ice. If the ice sensing arm is down ( on position) and the ice maker is full of ice, there is a failure inside the ice maker and the ice maker should be replaced.
If there is no ice in the ice maker, look at the fill tube on the rear of the ice maker. If the fill tube is frozen up the ice maker can't fill.
You can defrost the fill tube with a hair dryer.
The water valve on the rear of the refrigerator supplies water to the water dispenser and the ice maker. Since the water dispenser is working, the only line that could be blocked runs up the back of the cabinet and attaches to the fill tube for the ice maker. The water valve could be bad and not sending water to the ice maker.
If the fill tube freezes again you should replace the water valve.
Hope this helps.

Ice maker not making ice water dispenser works well

There are 2 solenoids, one controls the water dispenser the other controls the ice maker water supply. Follow the tubing down the back of the refrigerator to find the ice maker solenoid. If the line is frozen between the back of the refrigerator and the ice maker it won't make ice either. If the line is frozen you need to check to see if the solenoid is leaking, this allows a trickle of water to continously flow through the lina and freeze.

Maytag sidebyside MSD2758DRW ice maker won't make ice

Hi,

If the ice maker no longer make ice, check the following.

Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on.

On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice.

Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

Thanks

GE Eterna series Ess23xgsbb That the ice maker makes and but the despinser keepe freezing over. We have taken it out and defrosted it and with in 48 hours it frozen over again

I assume you're talking about the ice dispenser and the ice bin being frozen over.
The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube and causing the water to spill into the ice bin. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip. It doesn’t take much to eventually block the fill tube.

If it overfills and drips, look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water.

We have a Maytag MSD2754ARA refrigerator and heard water leaking under it last night. We checked and it is coming from the line connected to the icemaker. The line inside is frozen solid. I have read that...

You'll need to first defrost/thaw the freezer and the water line in order to get water flowing again. This can take some time, so you might want to shut off the ice maker by lifting the ice maker bin arm, which will stop it from cycling/calling for more ice to be made.

You can try to thaw the line by using a household hair dryer, but unless you have only a small area of the water line frozen, it could take some time. That is why it is best to empty the fridge/freezer and keep the doors open and the unit off to allow for a complete defrosting of the unit. Have towels, sponges and buckets handy to get all the water.

It sounds like it could just be the frozen water line, but until you thaw it out, you can't really determine if that's all it is.

TURN OFF FREEZER HALF TO DEFROST WATER LINE THAT FEED ICE MAKER

Just turn the refrigerator off inside on control panel. Then get a hair dryer and melt the ice away from the tube taking care not to get plastic too hot. Sea Breeze
