Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
"F20" is a Water Inlet problem. This means you either have insufficient water pressure, the taps are turned off (not trying to insult your intelligence), the water inlet hoses are kinked, or the water inlet valve may be clogged with sediment. You need a minimum of 10-25 psi of water pressure in order for the washer to work correctly. Also, if you live in an area that has hard water, or if you use well water, you may have rust or sediment clogged in the inlet valve. However, if you just purchased the washer, I would tend to doubt that it is clogged already. It takes some time for this to happen. It still may be worth your effort just to double check your installation, check the hoses for kinks and the sediment screens for clogs. Just turn off the water at the taps and disconnect the hoses from the back of the washer. The sediment screens are inside the inlet valve on the back of the washer. The inlet vlave is also controlled by electronic solenoids. I would normally recommend that you check to make sure the electrical connections are plugged in correctly and then instruct you to do resistance checks to make sure the solenoids are good. However, once again, if you just purchased the appliance you have a one year limited warranty that comes from the manufacturer. If you open the appliance or attempt any repairs on your own, this may void your warranty. NOTE: The warranty does NOT cover installation, however. That's why I strongly suggest you doublecheck your installation. If this isn't a simple matter of installation, I would recommend you honor your warranty and save yourself from having to pay for repairs. I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if I can assist you any further.
