I've had this wireless adapter for awhile now, and had this same problem before, but I don't really know what fixed it. Ok here goes. Zyxel wireless in my room gets signal from the main computer in the basement. Time and time again the connection fails, then connects, then fails. Sometimes it will do it over and over, sometimes it won't fail for an hour. It's quite weird, I've rebooted, restored, checked cables, antenna, etc to no avail. Any advice?
It could be a distance problem, or interference problem. They do sell replacement antennas for your router and/or wireless card that will provide better reception.
Before you run to the store and waste money, I would search your favorite search engine for something called the "windsurfer wifi antenna". It is something you can make at home. Basically you take some cardboard and wrap it in aluminum foil. Shape it kind of like a dish and put one on your router antenna and one on your computer's wireless card antenna. It has been shown to increase your wifi strenghth by about 3dB. I did this and it seamed to help a little, can't hurt to try.
Also check for cordless phones and other such things sitting near your wireless devices, as that can cause electronic disturbance.

I have used this adapter in my bedroom successfully. Now I moved it to a room next to mine and it's very erratic. I have to keep doing a search for a connection, then pick my SSID, enter the Key # , configure it and save it However, this never lasts. It's connected then disconnected time and time again. And it's a poor connection for some reason. can't figure out what to do. Any advise??
