After having dropped our Canon Powershot A610, the spring in the battery door has broken or popped out and we can't close it properly and therefore can't operate the camera. We have been advised to send it to Canon Repairs in Brisbane, but don't want to be involved in big repair costs when it's nothing technical and only a spring to be replaced. What do you suggest? Mark G.

Message appears: MEMORY CARD ERROR PLEASE CHECK THE CARD I tried my 3 cards (that also work fine in my other machines) in the LZ3 too. Computers can read them; LZ3 won't accept them since 2 hours. Cleaned all contacts, put new batteries in - same message.
