Hi.
This is very serious. It means the register is about to completely clear everything (or may have done so already). If it has been sitting for a long time without power, or new out of the box, then this is normal. We can try to jump it back out of the init mode.

Follow these steps very carefully:

Turn the power off at the wall.
Turn the key to PROGRAM mode.
Hold RECEIPT FEED button down.
Turn power on at wall.
When you see the display change to 'FFFFFFFFFF' let go of RECEIPT FEED.
Press SUBTOTAL

Turn the key back to REG mode and try it. If you get error 8, then you may need to log a clerk back on.

Let me know if you have problems.

It should definitely work. You have to turn the power off completely at the wall. Then make sure you turn the key to PROGRAM position. Now keep your finger on the RECEIPT FEED button - don't let go. Turn on at the wall. When the machine comes back on, it will still show the Ls on the display, then they will change to Fs. You need to keep holding RECEIPT FEED down after you turn on in PROGRAM mode. Try holding RECEIPT FEED (top left corner) longer (usually around 5 to 10 seconds). Once you see the Fs, let go of RECEIPT FEED and then press SUBTOTAL.

if it doesn't work this time, then you have a serious lockup. We can still try a harware reset, but that is very rare, and usually only needed if you can't see the Ls on the display.

Hey i got same problem...i follow the steps but aint working. Well my problem started when a customer spill coffee so the register died completely... i let it dry 1-2 days and then i took it apart to clean it. When i had it plugged my boss pull the cable that goes from the power inside to the chip and then when we put it back we saw the INIT LLL... on the screen. Did we burn anything?

How to program discount on Casio TE-2400 cash register

No need to program it. It is enabled by default. For a percentage discount, just type the percentage eg 10 then press %- button. For amount discount, type the dollar amount eg 2000 (no decimal) then press - button.

Getting error in E004 for Casio TE-2200 reg how do I get out and running

Try this:
Turn key to PGM (program) mode
Turn power off at the wall socket

Hold down RECEIPT FEED button (keep your finger on it)

Turn power back on and wait 5 seconds before taking your finger off of the receipt feed button (the paper may feed out. This is normal).
The LLLLLLLLLL part of the display should change to FFFFFFFFFF.
Press SUBTOTAL once and wait for the printer to issue a receipt.
Turn key back to REG mode and try it. You may need to sign on using a clerk button or a clerk code if you use one.

I have a Casio TE-2200 Electronic cash register that is saying INIT LLLLLLLLLL What do I do to fix this. Please help

Be very careful. The machine is trying to wipe all of the programming due to a flat battery (you can't store cash registers for more than a month or so). Follow this very carefully:

Turn key to PGM (program) mode
Turn power off at the wall socket

Hold down RECEIPT FEED button (keep your finger on it)

Turn power back on and wait 5 seconds before taking your finger off of the receipt feed button (the paper may feed out. This is normal).

The LLLLLLLLLL part of the display should change to FFFFFFFFFF.
Press SUBTOTAL once and wait for the printer to issue a receipt.
Turn key back to REG mode and try it. You may need to sign on using a clerk button or a clerk code if you use one.

If the memory is scrambled and your programming has vanished, you will need to clear the machine and start again. There is a full programming manual online. the only one I know of is here:

I have just baught a second hand casio TE8500f cash register and every time i turn it on it displays init 1.flag clear 2.init2 and every button i press it then displays operator mistake

Highlight "flag clear" and press YES button. If it still does not work, you have a flat or (usually) faulty memory battery and it will need to be RAM cleared then re-programmed.

Hi, I seem to be having many problems with my cash registers. One of my TE4500-F registers is showing INIT LLLLLLLLLL when I turn it on. I have tried the reset methods using the Receipt and Journal Feed...

Ok. So if you have turned power off at wall, turned to program, held RECEIPT FEED and powered on, and you cannot get the Ls to change to Fs, then you most likely have a worn out mode lock. It is common as the 4000s get older. they are cheap to replace. It is possible that you have keyboard failure, but if you can get the paper to move with the receipt feed key then I'd say it is still mode lock.

Casio te-2400 cash register- making transactions

Try this: Turn key to program mode 0 CASH SUBTOTAL 3 SUBTOTAL 0 CASH SUBTOTAL
This should remove the preset amount from the CASH button. Now it should work normally when finishing the sale.
Now turn back to REG mode when entering the price, DO NOT use a decimal, so type 2000 for 20 dollars. Now press a PLU (item) button. SUBTOTAL Type the amount received (NO DECIMAL, so 5000 for 50 dollars) Press CASH Change should be displayed, and drawer open
