Turning on Internal TV Speakers

I have a WS55511 Mitsubishi Rear Projection TV. I want to turn on the TV Speakers, at present they are set off. When entering the Setup menu for Audio/Video to turn the speakers on, the TV Speakers on / off option is grayed out and not accessible. What is the process for making this option active.

what sources do you have connected to the tv?
If you have more than one source, have you tried another source to see if it also has no sound. The TV also has a setting in the audio menu to turn off the internal speakers.

very easy repair caused by failed DM capacitors. You can get the WS55511 DM repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com which has the upgraded capacitors and the CD with repair instructions which should solve that issue.

How do we turn off the internal speakers to use a surround sound system on our Mitsubishi HDtv 55" 1080 SERIES TV?

IF it is a Mitsubishi WS-55613 rear projection set---

You with the Mitsubishi remote go into the customer menu and select Audio(it should be a separate item) and look for a setting for speakers--right cursor to it and up or down cursor to change it.

Some models may have this feature in the SETUP part of the menu.

Here is another similar problem with a Mitsubishi Rear Proj. TV and it has some things to try and an estimate if that is the problem.

"Cost of convergence repair is always around $400"

You could also try messing around in the menu for convergence adjustments. Usually it will let you adjust at 8 points on the screen.

Television is on but no sound everything else is working

Usually when you see a symbol like that, the speakers have been disabled. Is there a menu option for turning off the internal speakers? This option is different than Mute.

PROJECTION TV COLORS DISTORTED

You can try to enter the menu and go to advanced setting and adjust the convergence. Push audio to go to advanced convergence and do the multipoint convergence to re-align the colors. If this doesn't solve, you may need to do a hardware repair.. all projections of this type will need a convergence IC repair sometime during their lifetime.

Turn the speakers to ON

No I am not using a hdmi input. This problem exists within the unit itself. I am unable to manually turn on the Televisions internal speakers. they are currently set to off and are not highlighted within the menu to be able to turn them back on. I hope this helps. thank you!
