Question about HP Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

HP 6L seems to have some phatom print job stuck in its memory. How can this be cleared. Unplugging (for 1 year) didn't solve it. It keeps printing blank pages non-stop right after connecting it.

No change. I've since uninstalled the printer and reinstalled. All tests printing from MS Word, Notepad and the command prompt indicate that the computer is communicating to the printer since a page does eject. The problem is that 4-5 blank pages print every time for a simple test print containing just the words "test test test". Arggggggggggg!

Memory fails to clear

Hi there,

There could be 2 possible reasons for this.

1. The printer drivers are corrupted and need to be reinstalled
2. The Printer spooler needs to be reset.

Step 1.

To clear the Print job stuck in Queue and reset the Spooler settings, try these command below.

Click on Start button
Click on Run
Type Cmd "Note : If you are using Vista or Win 7, you will have to wait till the word COMMAND PROMPT is shown in the list and right click on it and click Run as Administrator )

You will find a Black Window
Type SC CONFIG SPOOLER DEPEND= RPCSS ( hit enter )
** make sure the command is entered exactly the same pattern**
Then
Type NET STOP SPOOLER ( hit enter key )
Type NET START SPOOLER ( hit enter key )

Do this 3-4 times and finally end the command with NET START SPOOLER
Type Exit to close the window.

Restart your PC and Printer

Try to print it should not..

Step 2,

Uninstall the HP Laserjet Printer Drivers from Add/Remove or Programs and Features list ( from Control panel )

Click on the link below and download the latest drivers for your HP Printer by selecting the operating system.
HP Drivers

Also, if the print jobs are stuck in queue, it could also be because of Faulty Ethernet or USB Cable or low signal on wireless. Try changing the Cables as well.

Suhail

HP 4350 ERROR MESSAGE: 49.2F90

"the printing operation has been aborted.
The issue can be caused by a firmware error, invalid print commands, corrupt data, invalid operations, poor quality parallel cables, poor connections or specific applications.

Action :

1> Press Cancel Job to clear the print job from the printer memory.
2> Turn the printer off and then on to clear the error message.
3> Try printing a job from a different software program. If the job prints, go back to the first program and try printing a different file. If the message appears only with a certain software program or print job, contact the software vendor for assistance.

If the above action does not solve the issue, contact HP or authorized service provider."

After putting in new toner, copier keeps printing former things I printed over and over

Hi farmdaugher, it sounds silly, but you could try turning off the copier and unplugging it for a minute or so, which should reset the memory of print jobs.
The problem may also be on the computer side, where you'll need to remove all print jobs if one is 'stuck'. Hope that helps.

I tried to empty the spool and the job seems to still be stuck...what can I do to cancel the job?

you'll also need to unplug the printer from the power outlet and keep it like that for about 15 minutes. With the spooler empty, this should clear out the memory of the printer and get you back to a fresh start. This happened a lot with HP 1000 lasers, it's the first time I hear another model having the same issue... but the basic problem is the same, the spooler sends a Get Ready command to the printer, then processes the print document and sends it off. If you erase the document before it's sent to print, or the printer doesnt echo with OK to Print, then the spooler sits and waits for the printer to get ready, and the printer for some reason gets stuck with a Get Ready command without responding back. So clearing the spooler and turning off the printer for 15 seconds usually fixes the problem.
If you liked this explanation please vote with a Thumb Up. Thanks.

If printer runs out of paper and you refill starts

The continuous printing issue can be fixed following this link

Regarding Gibberish printing or say garbage printing, If the above utility does not fix this issue, probably the printer drivers are corrupted, and you may have to uninstall the printer software from your pc and download and reinstall the latest drivers. this link below will let you choose the operating system of your PC and download the drivers

My ip4300 keeps printing the same page over and over again. There's nothing in the print Q, but no matter what new job I send to the printer it prints the same old page. Is there a way to reset the printer...

Have you rebooted your computer? The printer's memory is very limited -- certainly not enough to hold an entire page. Your computer feeds the printer a line at a time, so it would seem that your computer's print spooler is 'stuck' on that print job. Try shutting the computer down completely, then restarting and see if that print job clears out.
