I get the feeling it is a security problem on your wireless access point. Try turning security off temporarily and see if the problem goes away.
The fact that you can connect to other networks tells me that your mac book network config is ok.
The reason the manual ip configuration doesn't work is because wireless connection connection has not succeeded. Kind of like not having the cable connected and expecting to find your DHCP server.
One thing that comes to mind and drove me completely insane once is your wireless network name (ssid) is case sensitive. So homenet is different from Homenet for example and you won't get any decent error messages.
With the security make it as simple as you can then slowly turn stuff back on (WEP and MAC filters for example) until it breakes again. Then you will know where your problem is.
Try to go to start -> settings -> network connections -> and see if your connection is working properly if there is a problem it will say it's limited. If limited try right click and repair, if it won't work try right click on connection then properties and in ip/dns section set all on automatic.
If none of this will work try to disable firewall for few min and see if it works, to do so go to control panel Windows Firewall,
If password would be wrong you wouldn't be able to connect at all, you can always try to go to available wireless networks and try to disconnect your connection and then reconnect again it should prompt for pass.
first connect your router to laptop with ethernet cable.
Then u can access it with following link
then type user name as "admin" and password is "admin" or blank or "password"
then u can see configuration of your router.
then check its ip range and enable dhcp and also if there mac security u have to add your mac adrese in allow list
u can find your computer mac adreses with command prompt.
type "ipconfig /all" in command prompt.
then u get alL ADRSES physical adrses is your mac addreses.
then type user name:admin password is:admin or blank
thaen go toa dvanced then wireless management.then add mec addresses.of your computer which u ewant to add.
go to your computer then run cmd
then u get command prompt.thenh type "ipconfig /all"
u get mac addreses.
add it in router.
Changing the router password from admin to any password I think that you would be possible. Other brands of router has that option. And the router password won't affect the password for the wireless connection, they are different from each other. Wireless mac Filter is another way of securing your wireless network. Its done by listing the MAC Addrses (media Access control) or the physical address of your wireless adapter on your computer/s to either allow them to connect to the network or not to connect to the network. but I recommend to just use WPA security. It's secured and its much easier to add another wireless device to your network, because you just need to put the password and no need to get the MAC address and manually encode in on your router setup page. Its also possible to change the SSID or the name of your network.
I will get back to you with the steps on how to change the ssid adn change the router password. Okay?
you need to reconfigure your network settings again, double click on your wireless icon that appears on right top corner of your screen and give the appropriate settings there
you should give proper IP address and gatway and Password for net access
