Question about Digital Cameras

2 Answers

While traveling in Europe our digital camera was run over by a car I was able to open it and the battery and the SanDisk 2gb SD card came out, both the battery and the card look O.K. but I am unable to read any of the pictures on it. I have taken it to a local Photo developer and he tried to "rescue" the pictures with his program and that was not suscessful. any ideas if there is any hope to get the pictures off the card? Peter

Have you tried this camera memory card on your computer?
If this camera memory card can be read functionally on your computer, you'd better copy off all your stored photos to another memory card or drive and format this card immediately to check whether it can still be read on your camera.
But, if this card unfortunately also gets the same error, you'd better try to apply a memory card photo recovery freeware to get all your stored photos back successfully for free:

In fact, this freeware helped a lot as the external hard drive of my friend was mistakenly formatted. It finally restored all the needed data of my friend. It always works well on both of a memory card and a hard drive. So, I believe it will also help you a lot.
Try to read more information of this freeware here:

After experiencing these troubles, I hope you can learn a valuable lesson to back up everything important well all the time.

Sorry to say but if your PC can't read the card then pictures are 99% lost.
Unlike conventional hard disk drives there is now way to rescue information from flash media.

Do I have to use a Olympus memory card or can I use a SanDisk SD card

You may use any brand xD Picture Card. The key is that it be an "xD" card, not the far more common "SD" card.

How do i format a larger sandisk card and what are the stepts?

Hi

The Polaroid A515 digital camera can only use SD cards upto 1Gb. if you are trying to use a SanDisk 2Gb SD or a higher capacity SDHC card you will be disappointed.

Regards

David

It will not format a 4gb SanDisk SD card

Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. The DX6490 works with SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to go with SD cards 2GB and smaller.

I cannot format the sandisk Ultra on my Kodak easy share camera. pdavis610@triad.rr.com

The Ultra card is larger than 2GB, isn't it? The Z612 uses SD cards. If your card is larger than 2GB then it's not an SD card but an SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card. While SDHC cards will fit into SD slots, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller in the Z612.

Memory card Sandisk 4GB gives error memory card

The S50 uses SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card, and will not work in the S50. You will have to confine your choices to cards 2GB and smaller.

Need to know what memory card can i purchase and where for kodak easy share c530 my camera is old haven't used much I have a 1.0gb sandisk can i use a 2gb sandisk.

I had a look and it seems 1GB is about the Maximum? yes Sandisk is a good brand. Frankly anything that works well is OK.
Buy a good brand of card ... SanDisk is my favorite.
Kodak would certainly be a good choice too.
Don't buy it on eBay, as there are too many counterfeit cards available on eBay.

A Tip:
If you use a card reader, you will need a SDHC card reader if you use a SDHC card.
Most older card readers can not read a SDHC card.

Tip number 2:
Always format a new card with the Camera before taking any pictures.
You will find how to format with the camera in the camera User Manual.

My argus cintar DC5315 will not work with a 2GB SanDisk SD card

Due to the devices age (i have one too, i bought it Christmas 2005) its internal parts are not as strong as newer cameras, and therefore, cannot support as much memory as new cameras. I have an 8gb SD card and the camera does not even turn on with that much space, but with 128MB it works just fine.

MicroSD SanDisk 2GB memory into Panasonic DMC-FZ7

Hey filmoman2008,
If you are really trying to use a micro SD card this camera actually takes normal SD memory cards not micro SD cards.
