Question about Sony PC Desktops

1 Answer

The touch pad and 'click' buttons on my Sony VGN-A115Z laptop have stopped working since I had to use the recovery procedure due to loading what I think was some corrupt software. Is there a 'switch'or similar that needs to be activated to restore activation?

Hello.

Your touch pad driver has probably not installed corectly.

I suggest you download the driver pack provided by sony here:
http://support.vaio.sony.co.uk/downloads/preinstalled/preinstalled.asp?site=voe_en_GB_cons&m=1674
extract the archive after download and run Apoint.exe from the PointingStickDriver directory

Hope this helps!

Hi I need to restore my Vaio VGN N325E to factory settings. I do not have the Recovery disks.

In that case you will have to purchase the version of OS you have on the laptop and use that to re format and load a new system.

Backup for Sony vaio

Hi,

If you got the recovery disk along with the Vaio laptop, good enough.Insert the disk and reboot, follow instruction displayed on the screen to restore.

If you dont have a disk, can try this :--
Reboot and press F11 to try and enter the system recovery mode, if you can then you're good, simply follow the prompts to perform a system recovery.

Let me know the status please.

Thanks

Have a problem with my mouse pad on my laptop

GO into your mouse properties in the control panel and make sure you have the touchpad mouse turned on. This is a link that should give you any drivers you need.

Sony vaio not loading windos

Try booting XP with the installation CD & use the recovery console to boot the laptop.

From the Setup CD-ROM

Insert the Setup compact disc (CD) and restart the computer. If prompted, select any options required to boot from the CD.
When the text-based part of Setup begins, follow the prompts; choose the repair or recover option by pressing R. If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation that you need to access from the Recovery Console. When prompted, type the Administrator password. At the system prompt, type Recovery Console commands; type help for a list of commands, or help commandname for help on a specific command.

To exit the Recovery Console and restart the computer, type exit.

Left mouse button and mouse pad sometimes stops functioning on the sony vaio vgn-ar51e

It's most likely a loose cable inside the notebook then makes contact intermittently. Or, your touchpad is faulty.

It might be worth having the machine looked at by someone certified to take it apart.

Touchpad problem on VAIO laptop

Have you tried a regular mouse another (USB) input? You may be able to carefully disassemble the pad and clean with a electronic cleaner fluid. Use a light touch with the membrane. If the mouse behaves the same, look at you system and uninstall / reinstall the driver. The oils on your fingers can gum up the surface and make it less sensitive to the electrostatic properties that make a touch pad operate.
