My d915 pro mainboard will not take 2 sticks of 1gb ram. will not boot up. why? i am using pc3200 400 mhz wintec ddr rams

Hello mt0898, you may have to check your motherboard for compatibility issues which is the first step you should proceed with. Find your motherboard model/information and make sure that it accepts DDR ram. There are different levels of DDR ram as well (DDR/DDR2/DDR3). If you have found your motherboard model and are certain that the ram is compatible with your motherboard, then move on to second step. There is a possibility that the ram you are trying to use is bad, if you try and use bad ram it will not allow the computer to boot up. Due to this fact, I would recommend trying them each individually and removing your other existing ram if you have it. So take out all the ram and try each stick one at a time, boot it up and see if it gets past where it normally does. If one allows you to boot up and the other doesn't then you may have a bad stick. Hopefully this has solved your problem, good luck and have a great day MT!

What type of RAM is used, and how to up grade

The type of ram used is PC3200 DDR SDRAM. The maximum ram supported is 2GB

There are 2 slots on the motherboard each supporting 1 x 1GB (gigabyte) each.

If you want to upgrade to the maximum amount of ram then you must buy 2 x 1GB PC3200 DDR SDRAM.

To upgrade the ram take the side panel off the computer and remove the existing ram from the motherboard like in this picture.>>>

All you have to do is remove the ram and insert your new ram. Make sure that you clean the the slots of any dust as the dust can cause boot issues.

    Good luck.

I need to buy memory for my computer its an emachines desktop model# T3410 512 MB DDR SDRAM and I dont know what to get

in DDR ram there is some models like ddr and ddr2 and another new model is DDR3. First you check what is your ram related to. for that in some pcs bios option system information the details are there. For that at the time of booting before windows logo press the button whatever is showing to enter setup. and check otherwise remove your ram and take that to a computer shop and take a new ram with same model.

And one more thing is you have to check your clock speed of your ram. Remove your ram from pc and check if any information is there on ram

    DDR or DDR2

DDR 266 is DDR, not DDR 2 . The 266 is the frequency value in Mhz.

Try having the memory refunded or resell it on Ebay, so that you do not lose your money.

Here is supported memory, many older motherboards do not accept modules of over 512Mb each, ask to the seller:

I have upgraded my k7s8xe with athlon xp 3200 cpu. I have adjusted the jumpers to fsb 200 & installed 1gb ddr 400 ram. system keeps rebooting os vista enterprise. any suggestions. also can i install 2...

First of all, if your FSB is set to 200mhz, the system will not support DDR400. "CPU at FSB 200MHz mode, it will NOT support DDR400". The FSB will have to be either 333 or 400mhz in order to utilize DDR400. Only 1GB of DDR400 is supported. As to your rebooting issue, could be because of these incompatibilities and/or you did not properly seat the heatsink/fan on the new CPU, which also means you might not have properly applied thermal compound or might have no applied it at all. All the compatibility information for this motherboard can be found at:
