Question about SanDisk 2GB Cruzer Micro SDCZ62048A10 Hard Drive

1 Answer

SanDisk Cruzer 2GB cannot save files to it

My mom gave me a 2 GB cruzer and said she could never figure out how to use it. When I put it in the USB drive, it opens a removeable drive H: folder. You cannot save anything to this folder or create new folders in it as it says the location does not exist. This driver should have U3 software on it that does not launch when inserted. If anyone could help that would be great and please give me some step by step instructions because things like "format the drive to your computer" will not help me as I do not know how to go about doing that..

i have the cruzer 1GB and i am using vista, I followed the directions but it doesn't format nothing happens when right click and format it. I asks for permission which i give and then nothings

I did the right click and selected format, nothing happened. I've tried this several times and nothing happens. I spoke with a SanDisk rep yesterday who at first told me it was my computer's USB slots, when I told him my other flash drive with U3 technology worked in all my USB slots, he told me I needed to buy an external USB drive. I had one at the house and tried that...again, the USB I already have works, the cruzer does not do anything.

Right-click on the "H" drive in My Computer (assuming that "H" is still the flash drive) and choose "Format", then format using NTFS (unless you might need to use this drive for Windows 95/98 systems, in which case you should format using FAT32).

After formatting, you should be able to drag and drop to the drive just like any other drive :)

Hope this helps - don't forget to rate :)

I cannot move a Microsoft Word file to a SanDisk 2 GB Cruzer, getting the message that "Directory or File cannot be created"...Why? What's the solution?

There is a problem with these where putting files directly on the root folder of the drive only allows X amount of files. Open the Cruzer from My Computer and create a new folder. Try dropping the Word file into that new folder and all should be well.

Hope this helps. Look forward to hearing back from you soon!
