Remove the two screws on the top of the hood, usually hidden amongst the four little holes on either side of the top of the hood. This should allow you to lift the hood away and access the belt and brushroll.

Most vacuum cleaners have a belt holding it in a slot with pressure. release the tension on the belt by pulling on it with your fingers little to see how the beater bar slides out. Good opportunity to change the belt, if you haven't before.

I have a model f7411900 steam vac from Hoover and it started making a loud noise like a broken belt does in a vacuum. Does this have a replacement bely

Open the product, make sure first that it is not something stuck inside. If it is a belt, check with amazon. Just make sure that you have the correct model.

John -

Your vacuum doesn't have a belt - only vacuums with rotating brushes use drive belts.

What problem are you having - why do you think you need to change the belt?

How do i change the bely on my Dyson rootcycle

DC07s have two belts - one connects the output of the motor to the clutch, the other connects the clutch to the brush bar.
I suspect the belt you are to refering to is the one from the clutch to the brush bar. Unfortuenately the other belt is hidden under a plastic cover, so you cant see if it is okay or not without some dismantling. This cover is not easy to remove and requires a Torx driver to under the securing screws.
If, after removing the cover, the other belt is okay, then you have a faulty clutch. New clutches are available on eBay reasonably cheaply, but again good tools and DIY skills are required.
Have a look at www.dysonmedic.com which has some excellent info on dismantling and repairing your machine, but unless you have access to such tools, and feel confident to tackle it, it's probably time to call Dyson or a Vacuum repairer.

Bissell drive bely

Take the bottom plate off, check the brush roll while you have it off, make sure the ends turn freely, if not, then replace it also. The belt goes around the motor shaft and then around the brush roll.

I am trying to change the belt on an Electrolux Model 1717 Upright Vacuum and I am having difficulty disassembling the vacuum to remove the beater bar and belt.
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. . Normally there are screws, clips or levers that would remove the bottom plate or if that does not work then the top cover will come off and that will expose the belt. Once that is off and the belt is exposed then cut off the old belt and then lift up the brushroll on the pulley end and install the new belt around the pulley end and re-install the brushroll. Then use a belt puller or a screwdriver with a bent right or left end to stretch the belt onto the motor pulley and then track the belt in a straight line and reverse you steps in the reinstall of the top cover or bottom plate. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

The agitator brush does not work.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Generally the brushroll is driven by a flat or round belt under the bottom plate and the belt my be broken and is in need of replacement. The average belt change is every 4 to 6 months for the best cleaning on a flat belt, and on a geared belt it should be once a year. So if you are still having problems with the brushroll/agitator that we need the brand name and model # of the vacuum cleaner in order to tell you where to get the belt for the vacuum. Feel free to check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or contact the Brand Name Factory phone #.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
