We can't charge you through this site for onsite services such as these. However, I can tell you that if a client needed a new LCD for their laptop, my local service charge varies between $60 and $75, plus the cost of the LCD. LCD's usually run $100-$175 (depending on model) on eBay.

So, if you take it locally to get fixed, that's around the base line of what you should be paying. Naturally, the bigger the store (Best Buy), the more you'll pay. Try to find a local "PC repair shop" and you can save some $$$

Hope this helps - remember to rate :)

I was typing a word document and the computer froze. I rebooted. When it came back on it has a black screene with options to log in in 3 different safe modes. Help!!!!!!!!!

You should also have an option to start Windows normally - if not power down and restart the machine. This screen has shown up because Windows thinks something has gone wrong.
Something might have gone wrong but it is worth a simple restart first.
Please let me know how it goes.

The print on my screen is too large. I don't know what I did wrong - but I've hit a button (or something) and it's too wide. Can you help me 'shrink' it back down. Thanks.

If you are using windows xp go to control panel then apperance and themes then select screen resolution and change to suit.

Samsung SyncMaster 204bw....keeps going black every now and then with the power light flashing, i don't understand what is wrong with it :S please help?? i have to restart my system everytime...

Similar problem with Samsung Syncmaster T260 at 1920x1200 on HIS Radeon X1950XTX video card. Black horizontal stripes lasting 1/60th of a second or so every few seconds, then black screen for 2 seconds, then fine again.

I Set the catalyst control center control panel for the graphics card to Alternate DVI operational mode under the Digital panel attributes item. Setting the screen to 1600x1200 also seems to stop it doing this. BUT...it didn't used to do it. Bought it in November, and it didn't start doing this until late January. Go figure.

Without my laptop (samsung q35) being linked to the mains it is nearly impossible to be able to see what is on the screen, i have tried to adjust settings but this has had little or know affect. pleas help...

You may check power settings in control panel and see if somehow the settings for your screen are set to turn off or the power settings program has been corrupted for some reasons. Although I doubt that this the case it is worth to check.

At the same time there is a need for more information about how did that start or if you have done any physical changes to the computer.

Another thing you may do is connect it to an external monitor and see if the same thing happens to the external monitor. If that is the case then I think there is something wrong with your display card.

Get a new  Motherboard. See if that works, seems like you've checked everything else.  Good Luck!
