Check if you are entering the correct wireless security in your laptop. it could be possible that the wireless security was changed.
check f wireless mac filter is enabled as well since it will not allow you to connect properly if the mac address of your laptop is not registered

I would like to know when it say laptop with built in wireless. Does that mine i already got internet service on it. Or i have to buy USB modem.

Hello Blac,

All the laptops available in market have built in wireless 802.11 b/g/n or 802.11 b/g/n Bluetooth® wireless networking. It means that you can access the internet via Wi-Fi or through Wi-Fi hotspots. In wireless connectivity you do not require the wired connection to access the internet. In home you can connect the laptop via wireless connection using the home networking router available in market. The advantage of wireless connection is that you can use the internet in your home anywhere with in 100 meters of range with proper wireless signals. You will require to get the internet connection from the ISP(Internet Service Provider).

Please I cannot connected to internet

If you have a wireless router and it is connected to the DSLor cable modem then - To connect to your wireless router, the router needsits wireless settings to be configured with the SSID, encryption key etc., alsothe wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured withthese router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers cancommunicate with your wireless router and access the Internet via the DSL or cable modem.

Have laptop with internet but want to share it with xboxs

Yes, simply set up laptop as a mini server (Wireless) at the other end of the house (Where the Xboxes are) and ensure it has the WEP key installed when asked to access the router / internet. Buy a router adapter for each Xbox 360 that connects to them in the RJ45 slot and connect thru the laptop agian using the WEP key that you should have installed in the Router.

Connect laptop to my desktop.......monthly charge ?

no.. and chances you're not even doing what you describe.. she's likely simply accessing the internet through your linksys router, she probably does it wirelessly while your desktop may be wired to the router. the router is to share the internet connectivity so you're not going to be charge for having her connecting to the router. something you may want to keep in mind is that if you your stepdaughter did not require a key code /password to access internet anyone that is close enough to your house could to the same without your authorization. so configure some security on your router. your router's manual should let you know in details how to do it!
if you don't know where your manual is, post back with your model number and revision (at the bottom of the router) and we'll help out find the the manual.

good luck!!

DSL line disconnects on WRT54GS only

Try to change the LAN IP address of your router to 192.168.2.1 by accessing the router's Setup page. You also need to set your Westell modem to "full-bridge mode". You need to ask assistance from your ISP to bridge the modem. After that, set-up the Linksys router to PPPoE then power cycle it.

Wireless router says its working laptop says no its not

Your sister was accessing the wireless access point at school which is connected to the Internet/WEB access via a router and the school's broadband service provider.
For you to access the Internet using your wireless adapter on your laptop, you need your own wireless access point and connect it to a broadband ADSL or cable modem and then connect it to an Internet Service Provider. Some Internet Service Providers (cable and ADSL) can supply a combined modem/router/wireless Access point.
If you already have a broadband modem all you need is a wireless access point/router. You only need to configure the wireless access point and your wireless adapter so they will communicate with each other. Folow the instructions in the manuals.
