Hi i want to chang my net password how to chang?

Hello
I got the information from the user manual on page 31:

http://www.2wire.com/pages/pdfs/2701HG_user_guide.pdf

Open a Web browser and access the 2Wire gateway user interface by entering

http://gateway.2Wire.net.

Click the Home Network tab.
Click the Wireless Settings link to open the Configure the Wireless Network page.
On the Wireless Security section select custom key ,enter new key and then click on Save at the bottom of the page.

By the way the default /current password is underneath the router.

hope this helps

Does the gateway 2701HG-b support WPA-PSK security the label says WEP I need WPA

Yes, the gateway 2701HG-b supports WPA-PSK. Refer to user's guide here:
http://www.2wire.com/pages/pdfs/2701HG_user_guide.pdf Pages 25 to 28 will clearly show you how to set up WPA-PSK. Hope this helps.

I have a 2wire Gateway wireless modem Model 2701hg-b. Not sure where the paperwork is. Need to know how to determine PIN. Thanks

The pin is usually on a sticker on the bottom of the unit. This is the only router that has it like that, I wish more of the MFG would do it.

That key is the 10 digit number that's off the bottom of the 2wire (the one in brackets (ie [0123456789]) but only the numbers).

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

Computer won't recogniz 2WIRE 2701HG-B. Need drivers

The site says:

You do not need to install the 2Wire Wireless Client Manager if your computer contains a built-in client manager (such as Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Vista), which will work in conjunction with any 2Wire wireless adapters

If you have a driver un-install it and have windows find it for you. That is there recomendation. It says the driver disk they used to use was for the old operating systems.

My 2Wire 2701HG-B Gateway constantly resets!

If your gateway is constantly rebooting this is a sign of hardware failure and you should speak with your ISP about a possible replacement if it is still in warranty.

Home Network sharing issues using 2wire wireless modem

Did you manually assign the IP address to your shared devices? If so, the Linksys and the 2wire have different IP schemes.

2wire Gateway IP address:
192.168.1.254
255.255.255.0

Do an ipconfig /all on your computer and compare it to the ip scheme on your devices.
