hi,I tried to find you a user manual for you to solve the problem but I failed... sorry but without user manual it is hard to propose a solution for your problem since it is spesific issue on that model..I only recommend to you to go to "MENU" and scrool down on the sub menus to find out a control for this issue that you can alter.....Additionally ,Here is some information I found out about Protron company:
Protron and Spectroniq are the same company. I just visited the Protron web site "www.protronusa.com" it is dead and it has not been updated since 2007. I believe the company is no longer in business and will doubt if you will find a Protron Service Center. If and when needed,You are very lucky to find a repair shop that will attempt to work on the DVD , most will not. The internet is plagued with issues with protron products .

I hope that you have found the codes by now, but if not, here are the codes we have, and also the steps to program that remote.
1. Hold down the clear AUX button until all lights light up at the top of the remote 2. Punch in a 3 digit code (provided below) 3. Press the # (POUND) button 4. Try powering the DVD on/off, and the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over from step 1 with a different code
I suggest to purchase another brand , PROTRON no longer on the market , it belongs now to SPECTRONIQ,and their customer service is very bad, they will tell you that the BATTERY replacement is out of stock at the moment but its on order , Ive been like this trying to get a replacement for my PROTRON for about 3 years !! If you reach them can you ask they why does it say it is recording a movie and at the end of the movie when you press stop, it shows up "failed to stop current recording" and when you try to finalize the movie it says "disk is empty"? for god sake, i want to talk to customer support... you guys don't even have a 1-800 number posted....disgusting.....I am very upset with your cheap product...i guess i won't be buying protron dvd players from now on.....Whenever I put a dvd, it keeps on saying wrond disc and makes a wierd sound....please solve my problem and also give me your customer support phone number
