Question about Corona 23-DK Compact Heater
I replaced the wick at the end of the last heating season. When I lit the heater this year, the flame is extremely uneven, one side is very high and the other very low. In addition, the heater produces a large amount of soot. As I turn the burner, the high part of the flame moves with it. I have taken the heater apart three times and see no obvious problem. The only other thing I can think of is that I accidentally bent either the burner or the part it rides on and this is casuing the problem.
Try emptying your heater of fuel, and lighting it letting burn for several hours. This will burn all of the deposits off of the wick. Make sure your heater is outside when you do this. when done lower the wick, fill with fuel, and let the wick soak for fifteen minutes before lighting. If this doesn't work try brushing the top of the wick a light brush of some sort and light. If still no luck, change the wick.
