There are 2 ways to turn on headset mode. One is by programming, the other is by setting up a button.

BUTTON

Find a spare button of the 24 and label it HDST. Press PROG the button and dial 67 press ENTER then EXIT. When you press the button, the display will say HEADSET MODE ON and the button will light.Press it again to turn it off.

PROGRAM MODE

Press PROG Dial 61 ENTER and then SEL until the display says HEADSET MODE ON or OFF, then ENTER and EXIT.

Both work, but only one give you an indication when it's turned on.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Possibility to use speaker (handsfree) dissappeared. How to program for using handsfree?

Do you have any lights lit on the 24 buttons? Somehow, in programming, you have either activated HEADSET mode, or you dialed the code to set it. From your idle phone, press PROG and dial 61 and press ENTER. If the display says Headset Mode ON, press SEL and it will change to OFF. Press ENTER to save and EXIT to quit. You can program that under a button also, it's PROG button 67 SAVE. You can read the status of all your buttons by pressing PROG and each button in turn, noting what feature is programmed under it (like S-CO 001, VTR, Headset, etc.)

How do we reset our ring back time and our headset to where we use the speaker button to pick up and hang up

To change the hold recall timer on a prostar 816 you first need to be at a display set (doesn't matter what the extension number is).
with the handset down enter #20 the screen should say MMC DISABLED
enter in 1 2 3 4 1 # (that enables programming)
The code for hold recall is #52
enter in your hold recall time in sec. and in a 3 digit format. i.e. 30 seconds = 030 a minute and a half is 090 and so on.
press # when finished
For the headset opperation, with the hanset on hook dial #09 then dial 1 to turn on the headset and turn off the handset (0 to turn on the headset and turn off the headset) then dial # to save your selection.

How can i connect my headset to the KX-T7630 properly?? i sound very far away to my callers!

This is an unusual problem and might be either a bad headset or bad connection. What kind of headset do you use? Plantronics? How is it connected, directly to the little phono jack on the side of the phone, or through a cradle for the headset. If you're using the Plantronics wireless headset, refer to the manual on how to adjust the mic settings, there will be a dial on the side and it can affect the mic.

No dial tone on headset 2

If you have a regular phone, then connect it directly to the Vonage phone router. Be sure and connect to the correct port on the router (mine has 2 ports, and I use both, but a single line subscriber would only hook to Line 1).
See if you get a dial tone with the standard phone hooked up (we are testing that the Vonage is good.first, then we'll deal with the Uniden phone.). If not, what do the light's indicate on the Vonage router? Have you subscribed to Vonage? Do you have a cable between your router and the Vonage router?

Reply back back what you find and I can help you more.
