I'm going to ask a stupid question. After you run the recovery and the machine reboots, are you getting a prompt to "press and key to boot from CD"?

If so, don't press a key and see if Windows (recovered) will boot.

If not, I'd say you probably need to re-run the recovery and choose a clean Windows install ...or at a minimum, a repair.

Hope this helps - please remember to rate :)

I have a Dell XPS 419 and receive STOP: 0x00000024 (0x00190203,0x8AD31CA0, 0xC0000102,0x00000000) on the BSOD. Any ideas what it is or where to start?

Stop: 0x00000024 generally occurs due to the following reasons

1. The file system or partition structure is corrupted.
2. A driver compatibility issue exists.

When I turn my netbook on it starts but goes straight to black screen and nothing happens, I went to safe mode but whenever I press Entre it reboots and goes to black screen again, I have no cd-rom ... so...

Hi,

It appears that the computer is infected with virus and may need full system recovery. You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key
& keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction. NOTE: This will erase all the datas on
the computer.

You can also create a set to Recovery disk from the recovery partition, to do so
Start Menu> All Programs> Acer erecovery management> Click Create Factory Default Disk, if you receive any error code or unable to burn the disk, please contact Acer Technical
support at 1 800 816 2237 and order for an Recovery Disk.

Thanks and regards,
Jitha

When i try to use safe mode to system restore it goes through a list of drivers and stops. I can't get to anything to load my computer.. Pretty sure it was update that caused this since it happened over...

Yes it always does, wait about 5-10 minutes, then if it does not continue it is hanging and you will need to try another option.

Your system should have a recovery partition or a recovery disk.

Make sure the system is plugged in so it does not stop.
Check to see if you have one, go to my computer, and look at the drives,
if you have (C) and (D) and it says drive and not cd for (D) then you have a recovery partition.

Press F9 and enter the recovery, follow the instructions, it will ask for the disk or the partition.

Got following error: Load Error! Press any key to reboot

This problem is indeed caused by a faulty MBR but there are solutions other than zero-filling the drive.
If you can get access to a RipLinux CD there is a little utility called Testdisk that will write a new MBR code to the first block of the drive. I just did this on a Sony PCG-K15 this morning (after cloning the drive just to be safe) that was giving the same error of "LOAD ERROR- Press any key to reboot" and it worked like a charm. The machine booted right up.
Hope this helps...
