I just received my phone today, and the external display isn't working. It is just a blank screen. Any suggestions?

- Exactly the same thing happened to me today. I has happily texting away and the screen just went black. The keypad light can come on and i can recieve calls albeit i dont know who from! No idea why this has happened quite frustrating :(- GuestBest Solution

i would contact the point of sale for te device and invoke the warranty on it, the device is considerd a DOA [Dead On Arrival].

hi
you might perform a Clean Boot to your device, to be sure that there's no software problem.
to do so, turn off your device and follow this actions:
A. Press and hold the Volume UP and Volume DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button.
B. Continue pressing the Volume UP and Volume DOWN buttons until you see this message on the screen: "Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Please ensure any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before a hard reset is performed."
if you cannot see this message on screen, try to do the following:
C. Release the Volume UP and Volume DOWN buttons, press the Volume UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
if it does not solve the white screen problem, it is possible the HTC HD has an hardware problem and it should be returned or sent to the HTC Service Center in your country.

External screen will not work. When powering the phone on, the external screen will show all the icons, but once on, the screen goes blank. This is the screen that is on the front of the phone - SCP-3100 by Sanyo. Otherwise the phone works fine. Any suggestions?

Had the phone since August, everything was fine. Worked last nite, now today the phone is on, can get and make calls, get text messages, etc, but both displays are blank. Backlite is on, but nothing shows on the displays. Someone else was playing with it... is there a key combination that blanks the screen? Obviously, I can't see any of the menu screens. It seems like something was set to blank out the display, and now it needs to be turned back on.
