Water + Electricity = Yikes!!!!!!!!!!! Take the machine to a repair shop before you do anything else with it.

The foot pedal on my Singer Inspiration is stuck on fast speed.

Hi lawoffice474...

Unplug your foot pad from the machine and the electrical receptical.
Try moving the foot pedal with your hands, back and forth as if you were pressing your foot on it.
Did it loosen up?
If yes then you still need some maintenance...
If no then you still need some maintenance.
Disassemble the foot pedal and take as many pictures as you need to be able to reassemble it.
Once you have disassembled then you will look to oil (one drop max) the pivot points of the foot pedal, like the hinge assembly, reostat linkage, etc.
Once you have it oiled then try moving the foot pedal again my hand before reassembly.
If everything moves ok then your good to go...
Reassemble the foot control.
If not then its time to replace it with another foot pedal such as one of these at this webpage below:
Please take time to rate me thumbs up.

I wouuld like a 1/4 inch stitch is it passible with the 227?

This is the seam width?

Some machines can use a universal 1/4" presser foot.

If the needle can be positioned to the right, you may be able to use a regular presser foot.

A seam guide can be fabricated by using a sticky note pad or layers of painter's blue tape to act as a "wall" to help keep the raw edge of the seam feeding evenly. Measure 1/4" to the right from the needle and position the note pad or tape accordingly.

Replacement foot for Brother XL5600 sewing machine

First I have a couple of questions..
1) do you live in the USA?
2) do the feet just snap on to the base of the presser foot??
If those 2 questions come back yes, try newark dressmaker supply. Their website is::

Designer 1 reverse won't select, no light at all

The designer 1 has a weakness of the reverse pad (rubber button set) on left side of the machine wearing out and not working. You can try pushing from different angle, or pushing hard, but it most likely needs to be replaced. If you did buttonholes with the buttonhole sesor foot (foot with a wheel and a cord that plugs in), it would automatically size the buttonhole and you wouldn't need to reverse and you can use "FIX" to tie a knot instead of reverse

Foot pedal dead, machine keeps sewing!

There is no suppressor in the foot control of a 425. Only the control unit, which may need to be replaced. If the machine accelerates to full speed, it may have a problem with the "stop right" board which tells the machine whether to stop with the needle up.
You could have several problems, so go see a qualified Husqvarna repairman. You may contact Husqvarna customer service to locate the best one in your area.
