Not all buddies from all groups appearing in my AIM list
When I log onto AIM on my blackberry, it only displays buddies from one of my groups -- a group I have called Pandora.
It basically puts people into two categores "online" and "offline." ONLY people in the Pandora group show up as "online" or "offline".
People I have put in other groups "buddies" or "travel channel," for instance, don't show up anywhere on the list on the blackberry, though they appear instantly on my computer on Adium or iChat. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall AIM, to no avail.

Re: not all buddies from all groups appearing in my AIM...
The AIM client for RIM is limited to 30 contacts at this point, so it won't show everyone. They are in the process of updating their client so that it shows ALL buddies.
What you could do is use an instant messaging client called BeeJiveIM, which is a multi-protocol instant messaging client that allows you to connect to AIM, Google Talk, Windows Live, Yahoo!, MySpace and ICQ. There is a 30-day free trial at http://www.beejive.com.

If you're already having a conversation with someone using AIM, Jabber, Google Talk, or Yahoo!, select the conversation, then choose Buddies > Add Buddy. Otherwise, do the following:
In the buddy list window, click Add (+), then choose Add Buddy.
If you're using a single buddy list, choose the account you want to use to chat with the buddy from the "Add to" pop-up menu.
If the person you want to add has a compatible messaging account listed in Contacts, click the disclosure triangle next to the "Last name" field, choose his or her name from the list, then click Add. Otherwise, complete the remaining steps.
Enter your buddy's buddy name in the "Account name" field, and your buddy's first and last name in the "First name" and "Last name" fields.
Choose a group for this buddy from the "Add to group" pop-up menu. If you don't want to add the buddy to a specific group, choose Buddies.
The Quick Contacts button on the left will lead you to "Open Full Contacts". If none are listed, you need to export them from AIM or wherever they currently reside, as a CSV, TXT or LDIF file, then Import using the Tools button within AOL Mail.
Cause:- Call logging is not enabled for the Message list.
Ensure call logging is enabled from the Phone application Options menu.
1) From the Home screen, open the Phone application.
2) Display the menu and select Options.
3) Select Call Logging.
4) In the Show these call log types in message list field, select the type of call log to be displayed in the messages list.
5) Display the menu and select Save.
I hope I was able to help you.
Remove all special characters from your buddy list (any where on it) to resolve this issue. The only thing on your buddy list should be letters and spaces, no ,./-_ or things of that sort. This is what verizon told me and as soon as i fixed this i was able to sign online.
You can usually use AIM on your mobile phone for free. Most mobile phones come with AIM already installed. If you have GMail you can access your AIM buddy list on there and chat just like you were signed in to AIM. There is also a web access version of AIM on their website.
