Fisher Paykel sells an improved, black colored set of lit lifting assemblies, better than the white ones installed. If the lid does not clear when you cycle the empty drawer (12 minutes), then you need to order and install all four lifting/sealing assemblies and change them out. With both drawers removed, you can see the four plastic assemblies, two on each side of the empty dishwasher housing.

It is probably the seal that is not lifting all the way after the dishwasher completes it cycles. My understanding is the motor needs to be replaced if the problem persists. A good test is to reset the breaker on the dishwasher and see if this corrects the problem temporarily.

Something has slipped behind the bottom drawer, a flimsy cutting board. Can the drawer be removed and how?

The drawer is easily removed. Make sure you switch off the power first and I always unplug just to be sure.
9.1 Drawer Front Removal
9.1.1 Slide open drawer.
9.1.2 Locate draw pin on either side of the tub. (These are white plastic pins, about 1.5cm diameter. You can't miss them.)
9.1.3 Using a sharp pair of long nose pliers or slip jaw pliers grasp the center dividing web of the pin and pull away from the tub to remove the pin. Support the drawer front with your hand while doing this.
Note: The pin web is vertical.
9.1.4 With both pins removed the bottom of the drawer front can now be eased out slightly.
9.1.5 Now carefully pull the drawer front down to allow it to come free from the handle and top locating slots.
9.1.6 Carefully remove the earth wire from the tab on the drawer front. (if it is an integrated model you will also need to unplug the integrated badge from the isolating module)
9.1.7 Refit in reverse manner ensuring the drawer slides are right forward and the pin secures through the hook on the front end of the slide.
Note: When reinserting the pins make sure the dividing web is
vertical.

9.2 Tub Removal
9.2.1 Open the drawer fully.
9.2.2 Depress the right-hand tub clip and push it back about 30mm (1 inch). Repeat for the left-hand side. These clips are on the runners and are usually white plastic.
9.2.3 The tub may now be lifted up off the drawer runners. It's amazing but the drawer simply lifts out.
9.2.4 Slide both runners back into the product.
9.2.5 Refit in reverse manner.

Fisher and Paykel Dish Drawer: I flooded it by using wrong soap. It was flashing F1 but I solved this by drying it out after removing the bottom drawer. That problem is solved but now the top drawer is...

Most likely the lid seal is dislodged and is obstructing the bottom drawer. Need to manually operate the lid seal actuator yoke and motor to bring the seal back to normal position. Can be messy.
Will need to get the bottom drawer out from housing and work on lid seal assembly located in the main housing.

Dishwasher beeping and displaying F1 on screen. HELP!!

F1 error means that the flood switch has been activated. To reset the flood switch you need to remove the bottom dish drawer to be able to access the reset buttons. To remove the drawer you press in the rectangle buttons and slide them back under the drawer, they are located right behind the front panel at the bottom of the drawer. It may help to have someone help hold the drawer for you. Once they are slid back all the way place the bottom drawer on the floor to the left side of the washer as you look at it. This will give you the access you need. Lie down on the floor so you can see in the bottom. There you will see a white coloured plastic box on each side, one is for the top drawer the other is for the bottom drawer. Make sure the power is off to the dishwasher. Place your finger underneath the box and you will feel a small pin/lever. This is attached to the magnetic flood switch and resets it when you click it one way and then the other. Once you have done this turn the machine back on before you put in the bottom drawer as if it does not work then you will need to activate it maybe a couple of times. Once the F1 alarm disappears you are good to go. Place the drawer back in the opposite way to removal. Slide one rack forward and rest the drawer on it. Then slide the other side out and it will snap lock into position.

Top drawer is hanging up on something

The only way to fix this is get the drawer out by

1 Open the drawer fully.
2 Depress the right-hand tub clip and push it back about 30mm (1
inch). Repeat for the left-hand side.
3 The tub may now be lifted up off the drawer runners.
4 Slide both runners back into the product.
5 Refit in reverse manner.

That way you can get access to the top seal - which is called the lid.

You will have to see how much of the lid is still left behind hanging on the top.

To remove lid
1 Remove tub assembly as per earlier instructions
2 On the right-hand side of the lid release the two tabs that clip the lid
to the yoke. Repeat for the left-hand side.
3 The lid is now free to slide out of the chassis.
4 Refit in the reverse manner taking care that the lid is fitted the
correct way around. The front is indicated on the top of the lid.

If the whole lid is intact then it may be a matter of fitting it back. Othwerwise you will get one from fisher and paykel parts

To fit the lid back you will have to check if the actuator yokes are not broken. In which case you will have to take these out and replace with the new one. (comes as part of lid kit if you buy it).

Remove Yoke
1 Remove the lid as per instructions above.
2 Release the lid actuator connecting arm from the bottom of the yoke
by squeezing the two tabs towards each other.
3 Slide the front of the yoke downwards at an angle until it moves out
of the track in the rear of the trim, and is clear of the chassis flange.
4 Refit in the reverse manner taking care that the yoke is the correct
way around.

When putting back you will need to align the lid actuator motors on both sides correctly so that the yoke moves the same distance when activated. Otherwise the lid will have a scew.

Hope all this helps. If unsure you will need to contact a technician.

My fisher and parkel dishwasher keeps displaying F1

The best thing to do is turn the power off ,remove the bottom drawer by pushing in the clips on side of the drawer ,just below the round plugs. The clips are attached to runners, push them back to release the drawer and ( after taking out the rack and spray arm) put the drawer on its r.h.side. Mop up the all water in the base, then remove the cover that goes over the back L.h. corner, this will expose the mains/flood switch board ( make sure you dry the roof of the drawer before you take the cover off , or water can drip onto the board .....not a good thing!!!yikes.gif).

To remove the cover, push in the clip in the middle front edge of the cover with a flat blade screwdriverand slide the cover foward a bit, then put the screwdriver under the clip and twist up, the cover should now pull off to the right. Spend a couple of minutes drying the board with a hair dryer and mop up any remaining water ( be careful of the board again). Refit the cover and switch back on ( you shouldn't need to force the cover on, just slide it on from right to left , but you may have to push down the cover just above the clip to get it to lock once it is located correctly). If it doesn't F1 again ,all good, if it does , remove cover and redry, and repeat until it doesn't.

To refit drawer, slide out L.h. rail and sit drawer on it, then lift right side of drawer and slide out other rail and sit other side down. If the rails don't want to slide foward and lock, lift the drawer at the front while sliding the rail fowarduntil the front edge of the rail is just at the clipping gap at the side of the drawer, then make sure the drawer is sitting down firmly on the rails and pull clips foward to lock. If the drawer has been clipped in correctly it will slide in and out nicely, if not , look at the back edge of the drawer when it is fully open to see where it is sitting too high and rectify by refitting the rail on the affected side/sides. By this point if any part of the bottom drawer was broken ,you would have seen it. Also check the top drawer by releasing it and pulling it foward, shine torch in and have a good look.

Hopefully it won't leak again unless ther is a faulty part not visible to the nakedshock.gif eye, check by running one drawer for a couple of minutes, stop the cycle and open the drawer and check the outsides for water ( don't be too worried if you see water in the bottom between the drawers as it will drip from the roof, unless the drain or fill hoses are split ) ,if ok, run the other drawer and check.

Remember, if you get to a point where you don't feel confident with what you doing or you think you might break something, leave it and call a professional to do the job, you may save money in the long run and if you going to expose wires or connections always switch off and unplug before removing the cover, you dont know whats underneathxbones.gif.

The top drawer of my Fisher Paykel two drawer dishwasher will not close all the way. Something appears to be stopping it. How do I fix it?

To find out what might be blocking it, you can remove the drawer. There are two tabs one on each side of the drawer near the bottom front. Push those in and pull the drawer out. You can lift the drawer up and push the slides in to get them out of the way. Then you should be able to see into the cabinet and what if anything is stuck behind the drawer

F1 is a flood code meaning excessive amounts of water have collected on the bottom catch basin.
If a flood condition is detected, both draws will activate the drain motors and flash F1.
Remove the bottom drawer by pulling the lock pins on each lower side corner. Slide down and remove front cover. Release the drawer slide clips and remove drawer then dry the catch basin.
There are three possible scenarios for this error code;
1. Defective lid motor(s)...Each drawer has two lid motors, attached to the cabinet on either side of the drawer, that pull the lid tight to the drawer when the cycle is started. (this was very common on early models)
2. Something too tall was placed in the drawer preventing the lid from closing completely.
3. (only seen this once) the drain hose developed a crack causing water to leak only when draining.

Fisher and Paykel double drawer dishwasher

Hi. I am a plumber who has had this problem before. To reset the flood switches you need to remove the bottom dish drawer to be able to access the reset buttons. Oncw the F1 alarm disappears you are good to go. Place the drawer back in the opposite way to removal. Slide one rack forward and rest the drawer on it. Then slide the other side out and it will snap lock into position. This procedure literally takes me about 3 minutes and should save you about $120 for a serviceman to come out. The principal is the same on all dishwashers its just a matter of locating the reset switch. All the best and save yourselves a fortune.

Fisher and paykel DD-603 dish drawer

Hi there, If you have had an F1 you need to dry out the product in order to reset the flood switch. This is a simple process as follows: 1. Ensure product is disconnect from wall so that it has no power. 2. Open the bottom drawer and put your hand in through the gap where the bottom of the bottom drawer comes out and feel the base of the cabinet that houses the drawers for water. 3. If there is water present dry it out as much as you can with paper towels or old rags. This machine is designed to drain all water to the front of the base of the cabinet away from the flood switch that sits at the back left corner of the cabinet base that the drawers are fitted into. 4. When you have base of the cabinet dry you need to ensure that the switch has not moisture on it in order for it to reset and allow you to start using the product. This can be done 2 ways: 1. leave bottom drawer open for 24-48 hours to allow natural air circulation to dry out the connection. or 2. position a hair dryer to blow air into the back left corner of the base of the cabinet and dry it out quicker. This still make take up to 6 hours as the flood switch had a protective cover over it to try to prevent F1's for small spills. 5. When the product had been dried out, important that you make sure it has, when you switch on the machine the F1 should be gone and ready to use. Please run each drawer seperately on a rinse cycle to confirm to yourself that it flooding was possibly caused by something blocking the sprayarm, or something stacked too high or something got stuck in the pump temporarily stopping it from draining effectively or the product suddsing too much from spilt rinse aide in one of the drawers. If each drawer runs successfully you should be in the all clear to start using it again. Please note though: if something blocks the spray arm that is directly linked to the pump your drawer will flood as a result. If you have something stuck in the pump peventing it from draining effectively ie a toothpick or piece of broken crockery this will cause your product to flood, but you will hear an louder than normal sound when the pump is running. And finally if you spill rinse aide in your drawer when filling it clean all spilt rinse aide to prevent unit from over sudsing when running. Regards KAR-Ltd
