Older Vitamix Problem

I SAW and KNOW it works: It dose not leak at all and i knew it was a older model. what im saying is the blade do not turn. there is not a conection between the motor and the blade shaft. it has worn out. it is not fuctional. the blade dose not turn. IT looks like it conects just fine but. the motor just spins.

I think you are missing my point-I bought this from older lady with my bill paying money, listed it on ebay and sold it for $44.95-buyer says it doesn't work but I SAW it work & used it myself to make sure it didn;t leak as older ones like this is model MARK 20 do leak-or I never would have bought it-I cannot simply go pay at a service center-This is 3000 miles away from me-the buyer complained to me-I will forward your solution to him as this upsets me as I saw it work-it doesn;t leak, which was his other concern but I think it being older model and not modern is REAL problem-Out of over 400 vitamixes sold on ebay in last month, only 1 was sold cheaper than his-I mistakenly listed it for sale and not for auction-I asked if shipping box was crushed in any way-if iI had a good job and/or money, would not be selling my own stuff on ebay to pay my bills with

Mark 20 model, this is not new, this is older model-

  • tracygr Oct 01, 2008

Here is his email-again, Mark 20 model blender, not new one you said: "the blade do not turn. there is not a conection between the motor and the blade shaft. it has worn out. it is not fuctional. i love that its old and i love that it dose not leak that not the problem the blade dose not turn. IT looks like it conects just fine but. the motor just spins. there is a lital rubber gromet on top of motor that has worn out and becouse of that it just spins about making no true conection to the canister. okay that why there a problem. i new it was old i knew you had said it didnt leake. but ther was no statment in ther about it not turning. it is no good"

My question how much is this little gromet-he is complaining over paying $44.99 for VITAMIX. I would think this little rubbe rpiece is cheap enough for him to buy/invest and put on it easily-I may be wrong but am NOT refunding him as he didn't pay enough postage and he won it CHEAP! I am selling on ebay many of my own things to pay my boills-local economy is terrible here, 15%+ unemployment-I cannot pay this .com money to find out how much to fix nor pay someone to fix-I dont get monthly check-I' spent my electric bill paying money on this, THOUGHT I listed as auction starting at 44.99, but turns out I listed for sale for that much-

Sent this to buyer, he said no good, he justa want refund-I told him it worked when it was here-I saw it work it doesn't leak-He is ihnoring my question about package being damaged-could that do damage to this ittem so it no longer works?i seriously expected more than one comment-am behind in my bills, had originally bought this for self to make some baby food and-just nothing's going reight for me so i THOUGHT it would sell for DOUBLE this 44.99 price---

I want you to try this,

1.Remove the blender jar from the blender motor .

2. Check the jar by turning the shaft by hand to see if it rotates easily. .If not, disassemble the blade and ring. Check for obstructions or misalignment. It is better to change the shaft which holds the blade......

If it fails you again, you have to contact with the service center or visit this site

Hope my info helps you,
Thanx for using fixya,
Waiting to help you from your comments.....

Why is my vitamix leaking?

Probably the bearings in the blade assembly are wrecked, replace the blade assembly with a new genuine part. Someone here has fitted aftermarket bearings but I do not know how much gear they required to do the job. Search onsite for solutions may reveal more

Can you repack the blade bearing on Vitamix Blenders?

On the Vitamix blender models we have here in NZ it is not possible to repack the bearings, you just purchase a new blade assembly complete with bearings and the driving clutch.

Vitamix TNC 60 oz container leaks when in use. how to replace seal and or bearings?

If it is not the HUGE blade retaining ring under the beaker a bit loose then you will be buying new parts to repair it. The only other possibilities are beaker cracked and leaking (new beaker) or bearings & seals worn (new blade & bearing assembly)

Vitamin 3600 canister leak

I think it's the little washer in the blade assmbly since mine was worn to a sliver when it started doing what yours did. I replaced it with a similar washer and it worked for a week and then started spitting out metallic dust until it stopped working again. Could be the bearing seized. I would say yes a new blade assembly but I hadn't found one- since I have a 3600 which is very old-when my husband bought a used replacement container with a working blade assembly on ebay. $37 bucks, problem solved.

Vita-Mix 5000 blender shuts off under heavy blending loads.

first check the blades on the container thay should turn easy by hand if not thats your problem , you will need blades . blades turn easy ? you will need to replace the motor . the temp /overload has changed and is tripping to easy . this is common with people that use there vitamix for tough chores a lot . a lesser blender would just burn up a motor in a puff of smoke .a vitamix dies this way . in the end its the same you will need a motor
