Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

INPUT2: HD15 My computer screen will flash on and off while I'm working on it. After it flashes back on, it will be exactly where I left it, but there will always be a grey little box that says INPUT2: HD15. I have no idea what that function does or means. Is there a way to turn it off or fix it so where my computer doesn't continuously go black in the middle of my work? Also, someone said that I might just have a cord that is loose, but would that cause the INPUT box to flash up everytime it comes back on?

Seems to be some problem with your monitor not with your computer. Check monitor settings.

INPUT2: HD15 keeps coming up on my screen. i cant get through it. do i need to buy new input2: HD15 cable? the monitor is sony make and the hardrive is fujitsu siemens computer make

more information is needed for this question to be answered properly
im going to guss that this is your conection cable from video card to your monitor
try disconecting and reconecting the cable making shur that the cable is firmly conected at both ends
its posible that part of the tower case is preventing the full insertion of the cable into the socket
cut away 1/8 inch of the ruber shielding around the pc side of the cable so that it can fully be inserted into the conection
check that the pins on the male conection arn't bent or broken off

also run your closed hand down the cable itself checking for cracks cuts or breaks in the cable

if any problem is seen replace the cable if any pins are broken off check the femal reciver for the broken of part of the pin so as to not damage anothere cord
good luck

How do i flash bios on my 2400 Dell Dimension

Your sister has a vivid imagination. Changing the memory and flashing the BIOS will chane nothing.

If you want to start from scrath then reformat the hard drive and reinstall the system but as you probably don't have a system backup disc this will prove impossible for you.

Your best bet is take it to your local PC shop (I don't mean the mainstream ones) and they will be able to restore your system.

You've learned a valuble lesson the hard way here. Always have a good antivirus programme installed, make sure it is up to date and do a full scan on a regular basis.

I was trying to go through recovery thinking I could get more speed on laptop and I messed comp. up. Only get a blank black screen. tried powering down, rebooting, still can't get on. Help!! i was trying...

Flashing the Bios is a LAST DITCH effort to resolve Hardware issues. You should NEVER flash the bios unless you are absolutely certain it's the correct bios for your computer, also NEVER flash bios from within windows..

There may however be a solution for you, Acer laptop computers with the Pheonix BIOS sometimes has a " flashback" feature, allowing you to revert to your original Bios..

You will need to contact Acer to get a Crisis Bios recovery disk from them. Or ask for further information on how exactly to recover from a bad bios flash.

Power button just flashes will no turn off AND nothing on the screen

On back of the computer is a on off switch for the power supply, or unplug the computer for one minute. Turn the switch back on, or plug the computer back in and try to turn it on.

Input2:HD15 keeps coming up on my computer

Hi

Your hard drive was in place with a different motherboard. That motherboard had a different chipset, different features, different drivers, and when your computer boots up it is looking for an entirely different motherboard and starting to load an entirely different set of drivers. So by redone I was asking if it had been reformatted and the operating system reinstalled.

You see, it is not just as simple as popping in a different mobo...because all motherboards are not the same. Even Pentium-based boards are not the same. I have seen the same situation many times, and in some cases like yours the computer will go through this repetitive cycle of rebooting because of the change. Try booting up in safe mode (do you know how to do this?) and see if you can get to the desktop. Typically, I usually reinstall the OS, apps, and files....and the problem is usually solved. Jyothish

Go to the website hp.com in the support area & input your system name. Find the files to download the new bios to your computer. An executable file should have been downloaded to your computer. Double click on the file to install the new bios version. Your computer should reboot.

Sony PCV-V100G

Good afternoon, cckd!
Could you please provide me with a bit more information to work with? When it flashes, what exactly is happening and what color are the flashes? Does it flash a whole screen or just partially? Are there any sounds, like the HDD starting to run or the CD drive powering up? Are any leds coming on, or flashing?
I'm sure that I can help, but will need some more specifics.
Thanks, and have an excellent day!
Ron
