power off all items... do you have cable/satellite (this cable wire needs to be connected from box to the in on VCR) from the out on VCR connect back to TV...okay DVD you should have 3 cable wires (red/white and yellow) this is to be plugged into AV1 (on the back or side of TV) follow the colors... red to red and so on...note you should tune your Flat panel CH 3 along with the VCR (set it CH 3)... okay turn on all, get a tape, pop it in VCR press play... do we have a picture and sound? okay press stop.. get a DVD disk place it into DVD player press play.. using your TV remote we need to change the source from component/cable to AV1 in order to view a DVD. and change it back once finish so you can view regular TV. okay do we have picture and sound?

How do i connect the vcr to tv

Instructions
  1. Lay out your items where you want them to stay. Hooking up a VCR and then not being able to fit it where you want it is a bit frustrating. Put the VCR where you will want it to stay and make sure that your cables are long enough to reach from the VCR to the television. Be sure to have the TV angled how you will watch it so that the cables can be measured appropriately.
  2. Connect your signal in from your source to the VCR. Whether it's cable or satellite, connect your source to the VCR through the coaxial cable input. This is often labeled as CABLE IN, but it's the same jack for a satellite signal as it is for cable. If you are using cable, you can run the wire right into the VCR or through a receiver. If you are using satellite, you will have to run the cable through a receiver.
  3. 3 Connect your VCR to the television with an RCA cable. To do this, run an RCA cable from the VCR OUT to the television IN.
  4. 4 Check your settings to be sure that the signal reaches the television. If you are connected through a receiver that will change the channels, you will have to set your VCR to either channel three or four to send that signal to your television.
  5. If you have other sources you want to use, either before or after the VCR in the signal flow, you can add them as needed. It's possible to connect two VCRs or connect a VCR to a DVD burner for archiving purposes. To do this, you'd simply run additional cables either IN or OUT of the VCR, corresponding with the appropriate IN or OUT of the other device. As long as your signal has a starting place and a final destination, you can set up all of your equipment how you'd like in the middle.

I have Time Warner cable. I have a Symphonic SR90VE vcr/dvd that I have hooked up to the main TV. The cable box services a second tv in another room. I can't seem to get the main tv and the vcr/dvd player...

Cable goes to vcr cable INPUT, then run cables from vcr OUPUT to tv INPUT or AV.

Then put tv on input or av channel or channel 4 and use put the vcr on the channel you want to record.

The key is having at least a Universal Remote ($10.00 or less) that will operate your brand of TV. Your TV is only looking at "stations". You need to make it see Aux-1, Aux-2, or Line In mode. BUT, another trick is to run the DVD into your VCR (if capable). Select the VCR proper "input mode" (Aux-1, Aux-2, or Line In mode) then the DVD will play through the VCR and it will play through the TV on either channel 3 or 4. Problem solved!

Hi,

I am assuming that your TV has Video IN source selection.

You need to use the Video/Audio OUTput of the VCR/CD and connect them to the Video/Audio INput of the TV. To do this you would have to use a 3-wire shielded cable with male RCA connectors color yellow, red & white.
c296912.jpg RCA male connectors, yellow is usually video, red/white is audio left/right.

599898c.jpg as shown OUT of VCR/CD to IN of TV.

Pnce done, play the VCR/CD with a good known CD or tape and set TV to Video mode.

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Connection problem

The best hook up for this unit is to use the hdmi if your samsung box offers hdmi output. The panasonic vcr should be hooked to any one of the composit video inputs with the yellow video cable and the red and white audio cables. If the vcr does not have composite output then use a rf (coax cable) to antenna a input and put the tv on channel 3 or 4 as vcr is set for.
