They are the Home Depot distributor for Hampton Bay ceiling fans. Their number is 1-800-330-3267. There is also a 1-877-527-0313 number for Hampton Bay products other than ceiling fans...

Most likely fan motor winding(s) are burned open. You may need a new motor.

Extension pole sways back and forth while the fan is on

One or more blades is out of line. Get a ruler or a stick and mark the distance from the tip of one blade to the ceiling. Hold the stick in place and carefully rotate the fan until the next blade is near the stick. Do this until you have all four marks on the stick. It is important to try not to alter the position of the extension pole in between blades. Now you will find that one or more blades are at different heights. Carefully bend the worst blade until it is closer to the rest. If teh blade holders are cast, this may not be possible and you may have to pack the blade angle with washers or cardboard until they are right.

If by some chance they are all close, then it may be the "attack angle" of one blade. This is harder tot detect but sometime you can pick which balde by eye and adjust by trial and error until it is better.
Cheers,
Glenn.

My fan wobbles...how do I fix

switch one blade to another, if that does not work you can measure from the ceiling down to each blade on fan, the blades that are off. you have to remove and shim that blade up or down, put the shim or washer were blades hook on to fan. when the blades are level then it should be ok!! good-luck!

My ceiling fan is wobbling and it used to be steady. It appears to be off balance and I don't know how to fix it. Do you have any suggestions

First loosen the canopy cover and make sure that all the mounting screws are securely tightened, and that the fan is connected securely to the mounteing plate.
After tighteneng all that if the fan is still unsteady, completely clean all the blade surfaces. Then using clothes pins , start adding the clothes pips , like 2 or 3 at a time to a blade about 3/4 out from the center. Try adding to each blade until you compensate for some of the wobbling. By trial and error, increase the weight, shift the position of the clothes pins, and change the weight to different blades to get the best performance. Then when you are satisfied with the correction, tape coins to the top of the blade to replace the clothes pins. again with trial and error, ballance the weight to get the best condition.

Model # yg2047b. I had this fan installed in June, worked fine, now it hums..what could the problem be?

If the fan does not spin and the motor hums, you have a stuck rotor. It may be due to bushing/bearing alignment problem or a lubrication problem.
Try to spin the fan blade manually. It should turn freely, otherwise the rotor is stuck. Remove fan blade and put few drops of lubricating oil on the bushings/bearings and manually turn the shaft to free it up. Alignment of shaft and bushings/bearings must be after lubrication is done and the rotor is still stuck. Move the shaft up and down and side to side until it smoothly spin when manually turned.
